[ The light is flickering, but the video still shows Tessa, armed with a vase full of flowers carried like a baseball bat, creeping through the youth center. ]

Tim? Mr Morgan, Miss Faith?

[ Walking slowly, continually looking around. ]I should think being in groups would be favourable. I wouldn't wish to die at the hands of an angel, or the ( Read more... )

[Tim is sleeping off the night before, or he was before he heard Tessa's video. She sounds a little panicked so when he emerges from his room, he's only wearing his boxer shorts and he has his hand pressed to his forehead because what he's about to do is gonna hurt. He takes a deep breath, squints his eyes shut and yells]

Tessa! Where you at?

[ Tim, yelling. That is either a very good thing, or very bad indeed. Tessa's heart speeds up a little and she hurries towards the sound of his voice, vase ready to strike at any time. Not that it would do much good against the Angels, if she's to believe the network - which she does - but it makes her feel safer nevertheless.

When she sees Tim, she stops dead in her tracks, though, and forgets that she's meant to look around, keep an eye out for the statues. To prevent them from killing her or anyone else here. But-- Tim is naked. Not completely (and that's good, at least, that he isn't completely naked), but there's still a lot of uncovered skin. More than Tessa's seen in her life. Even her brother never went through the apartment in New York so scarcely dressed.

Then she catches herself and walks closer, looking around again. Anywhere but at Tim, in fact. ]

Are you well? You haven't seen the statue of an angel anywhere, have you?

Action; if you want there to be one, it can be in his room dillonrockstar November 29 2011, 19:06:55 UTC
Yeah...no statues...I don't think. [He wouldn't have noticed one in his room unless it were standing right over him.] You seen one here?

Action; oh God, Tim, you could have DIED with that in your room. likeboudica November 29 2011, 19:09:47 UTC
No. I have not, but there are reports on the network that they're very dangerous.

[ Peeking into his room and jumping back immediately. Her back is pressed against his arm for a moment, but she doesn't even care, because-- there's an angel in his room. Tessa freezes, looking at it. ]

Tim. There is one in your room.

[This is Jace...crouched on a tree branch. He's wearing black leather and has a brow lifted. This does not look like someone concerned for his safety.]

I have a feeling a vase with flowers isn't going to help this.

I'm well aware of that. But-- [ A beat, and she decides on honesty. ] it makes me feel better regardless.

Are you all right, Jace?

Are they really dangerous?

likeboudica November 29 2011, 23:27:22 UTC
I have no prior knowledge of them whatsoever; if they exist in my world I have never encountered them, but I've learnt to take warnings about creatures I know nothing about very seriously indeed.

I think they're bad, too. Summer is growling at the one outside.

Tessa? I've got candles set up in the downstairs common area and coffee brewing. Need a flashlight? I can find you if you're upstairs.

Candles should be very helpful. I did not-- I wasn't aware that there were any. [ A beat. ] There was an angel in Tim's room, Mr Morgan. We went to the basement to get clothes for him, [ she has no idea, absolutely none, what this sounds like or how it could be interpreted ] but I think I would prefer not to remain indoors. Groups of people offer safety, do they not?

What do you suggest we do?

I think if you stay in a well lit area and keep awake you should be good. Outside isn't gonna stay lit for long.

[Of course he's curious. But he also knows that if something's going on between Tim and Tessa and either of them wants him to know about it then they'll tell him. Otherwise, it isn't his business. And he's spent too much of his life getting into and trying to keep people out of business that's his or business he didn't have to be a part of.]

You're in the basement right now?

But inside we may be trapped if there is one of them at the entrance of the room. And there is already at least one in the house.

[ She wants to just find him, be safe--- but at the same time, she wants to know that they'll really be safe, that it won't just be an illusion. She wants, desperately, for her to convince her of that, of their safety. ]

No, we're just leaving.
