I'm just wondering, have you seen the movie Serenity? If no, I really recommend you buy/rent it as soon as possible! If yes, are you going for an AU within your Drabbles universe? Or maybe I'm completely misinterpreting what River is thinking about...

I really like the first part, btw.

I was actually going off the Firefly version, which seemed to go against the Serenity version. Not quite sure what to make of that ... but it is sort of half-canonical, so to speak. *grins* I wanted the sense of sacrifice around getting River out.
