Too bad he couldn't be a 'cop' from Britain who's moved to the States...seems like he could then keep that wonderful accent, but I supposed the LA cop thing is necessary for his 'dark' past.

I know riiiiiiight ; O; I really hope he won't have to do too thick of an accent.... But yeah, you're right about the LA part, it probably IS necessary.

Unless his parents hailed from England and he inherited their accent! XD

I always have mixed feelings about the accent thing. There's a degree to which I always wonder, why not just hire an American to play an American, or a Brit to play a Brit? But there have been Many examples of people doing wonderful accents that are not their own.

Alas, there are also failures (coughKevin Costnercough) so one can't assume. For some reason I think it's harder for a Brit to do an American accent than vice versa. That might just be because I'm American... Or because I've heard a lot more people put on Brit accents than vice versa. Anyway.

But... simm! Yay!

Yeahh I know what you mean. It's weird, it's like... I mean, over here when they shoot German films, yeah, they'd never go and make a German do an Austrian accent, because it'd just be forced and really really weird! They always go and hire an Austrian to play an Austrian role! At least as far as I now...

I think it takes a great deal of understanding of languages in general to pull off different accents, because it involves really listening in on how a language is spoken, to pick up the various differences in how certain syllables and sounds are formed... And well, some people have that talent, and some don't. :(

Funnily enough, I think you're right about Brits having a harder time doing American accents, but I can't put my finger on why that'd be! Maybe it's because, if you go for an American accent, you can be tempted to totally overdo it....? I have no idea. XD Let's just hope Simm has a talent for accents and pulls it off nicely. :')

Bottom line, indeed: Simm! Yay! ♥

Wooooo Simm!!! /o/

Let's just hope his accent is better than Philip Glenister's was in 'Demons'! Someone had to say it... XDDDD

This is exciting, though! More Simm goodness can never be bad, right? <3

Why is this reminding me of Hidden? A creepy past is good, but it's been done so many times. :(

And the accent... well, as long as he doesn't take tips from Phil. 8)

I'm going to enjoy seeing it, but it is a shame that he's frolicking off (wrong word, but I like it so it stays) to the States, but the best of British homegrown talent does at some point or another, unless they really decidedly choose not to. And it is more Simm too! As long as he doesn't not suit the format, then he should be fine.

Awwwwwwww yeah I know... But then it does have its appeal! :D

yyyyyyyyyyyyyyes exactly XDDDDDDDd

Haha agreed, I'll definitely watch it too.... not sure about the enjoying part, cos American accents tend to throw me off badly... especially if I expect British accents 8( but oh well. We'll see what comes of it~

Part of me is excited for this. It sounds like a cool idea and could be fun.
But the accent worries me and the fact it's on BBC America. I didn't know. A good majority of their programming is just okay?
I would love it if it was a BBC show being imported or John appearing in some of the better written America shows as a guest star but I don't make the decisions.

yeeaahhh my feelings exactly.

Oh, I didn't know that O: But the producers are people Simm worked with already, so I think that's probably going to influence the show a lot? At least I hope so hahah....
