An hour into that first train ride, Sirius was laughing harder than he'd laughed in his entire life. This might just be my favourite line. It really does seem like James and Sirius forged and instant connection and that was that ( ... )

Regulus's line of "Do you even remember?" is a very powerful one; it could mean any of the things Sirius remembers, any of the things we see, or some, or none ( ... )

The first two paragraphs set the scene really well. It's so vivid, I can almost feel the sunlight through the windows.
It looks so peaceful, but it's just an illusion.
That's a powerful line, and iot really sums up a lot of this story. They're about to be thrust into a turbulent world, and Sirius is aware of that.
"Do you even remember?" Regulus asks.
I wonder if Regulus even knows what he's referring to when he asks that. And of course, Sirius being Sirius, he remembers everything.
The third thing he learned was that he hated it.
This says so much about Sirius. He's a rebel, even from childhood.
The idea of playing "Wizards and Muggles" makes me grin. I wonder what that game entails...
I'm going to have to agree with Sirius, that copying down genealogical lines is *boring*.
"He's my brother. And, I don't care whose blood he has."How telling that he says this about Regulus, and years later, he says it about James. (Though I don't think ( ... )

Sirius had been able to tell that Regulus, as much as he enjoyed the attention, was slightly uncomfortable with it.
That's gotta be tough. Being practically ignored your whole life, then thrust into the spotlight when your brother fails to measure up....not fun.
And, when Sirius had begun to fade, Regulus had been expected to shine.
Star imagery/metaphors! Yay!
Sirius' eyes were fixed on his brother, hoping beyond hope that he wouldn't be sentenced to the same life their family had had.
That's so sad. On one hand, Sirius wants to save Regulus. And yet, NOT being in Slytherin would raise the wrath of their parents even more. It's a tough call.
I like how you repeat "Do you even remember?" at the beginning of the epilogue. It brings us back to the "present" without being too jarring.
"Mother is insane," Regulus mutters softly, and Sirius blinks at him.
I like the hint that Regulus doesn't approach of what their mother did. He's still got a sense of brotherly love, though he's trying to hide it.
"No," Sirius cuts him off. "I ( ... )

It will always break my heart that Sirius died not knowing his brother had done the right thing. I think he stilled loved him regardless but still, I wish he had known.
Ugh. Being the heir of the Black House. Ho unfortunate.
I can't imagine any scenario where Sirius is content to sit peacefully and do work. Hell, I can't imagine any scenario involving Sirius and the word peaceful.
This woman is so batshit crazy. Who expects a 6-year-old to care about any of this sort of thing?
"Is Regulus so boring, now?" the witch had demanded. This line reminds me of when Ron gets poisoned in HBP "you only care now because he's interesting" "he was poisoned ( ... )
