Star Trek

I have seen the film.

Parts of it made me cry. Parts of it made me boggle. Much of it is made of glee, and there is much that I am really going to have to think about.

I will definitely need to see it again.

It astonished me how much I could believe in all of them. Even someone like Simon Pegg, who clearly is not James Doohan's Scotty, is still so utterly Scotty that it boggles the mind.

And while I always got the sense that Leonard McCoy had been born middle-aged, Karl Urban is a young DeForest Kelley. I couldn't even picture such a concept before...

:D I was surprised how much I loved it, to be honest. I went in expecting to... well, not hate it, it's still Star Trek and while some movies suck *coughs* I don't hate them... but to be "meh" about it.

But! I didn't! I surprised myself! *G*

After Karl Urban's first scene as Bones, dpaxson and I raised a toast to the shade of DeForrest Kelley.
