For a while now people who know have been recommending Grace Garden as a Chinese restaurant worth checking out. Somehow, I'd mapped its location to farther out than it actually is, and so had been waiting until I'm actually in that neck of the woods.

This is the obligatory "we're all good here" post-earthquake report.

I think this is the first earthquake impressive enough that I have most definitely and unambiguously felt it. Being on the top floor of a 12-story building added a certain je-ne-sais-quoi to the experience as well. Wheee!

What I love about my little corner of suburbia is that after my 10-minute commute home (from the vicinity of a mall and a lake and a nice restaurant cluster) I can walk for 20 minutes, and then spend another 20 meandering among the trees without hearing any car noise or seeing any sign of civilization more intrusive than a nicely paved path.
