Stupid/Prevention/Plans

Biked up for errands this morning (dentist, picking up glasses, etc.), and there was a serious amount of stupid on the trail in Rock Creek. No helmet, helmet on but unbuckled (doesn’t do much good if it flies off your head when you fly off the bike…), people running on the left side of the trail, etc. Most annoying. Kinda makes you want to get “

I just got a new bike - a little commuter folding number (Dahon Speed P8) and have been riding the 8 miles to work in the mornings. Starts the day really wonderfully!

Thought of you as I passed the volleyball fields coming and going this morning. :)

I've consider a folding bike, but then I say to myself, "Do I need a fourth bicycle?" LOL The single speed has been great for getting around DC, though. I just love the simplicity of it - hit a hill, pedal harder; go downhill, coast. :)

Why is it that you say “I’m a triathlete” and suddenly you become all intimidating to some people?

It's a level of fitness that most don't aspire to. They might also think you expect them to aspire to it as well or that you'll frown on them for not, so it's a barrier. Never mind that you could probably tie them into a pretzel and there's nothing they could do about it. :-P
