Hey folks, I'm considering leaving LJ and am currently exploring various options and journal sites. Could anyone give me the background info on why GreatestJournal is not accepting new accounts? Is it worth waiting for them to try it out or should I just search elsewhere? Thanks :)

greatestjournal has been dead (minus a 404 page) since January. the owner of the site told everyone that he would not be fixing anything from then on and that when the databases died he would not be fixing them (he also told everyone to go to insanejournal...). i assume that means he won't be paying for the space anymore either, so it's just a matter of time until the site ceases to exist entirely ^.^;

I'd lost track of things over at GJ, so this was interesting to hear -- thanks for the heads up!

I've had an account there since 2003, but never used it much. There just wasn't that since of community and friendship that I've always found here at LJ...
