This is a very close summary of how my brain works, which is funny considering the main point of the essay.

Speech given at The Economic Recovery: Washington's Big Lie, the Supporters Summit for the Ludwig von Mises Institute, October 8, 2010. )

From light skimming, this looks like a good read, so I'm totally going to read it, but Dave... dude... lj-cut. Please.

Thought about it, but I like taking up people's screens.

Continues to reinforce my belief that I would be a libertarian if i believed human nature is fundamentally good. Unfortunately, all I know of recorded history shows me that some asshole always comes along and takes advantage of everyone else. What stops the libertarian dream from turning into Mad Max?

(also I know this wasn't the reason you posted the article. His main thesis of being aware of the limitations of the human mind runs very parallel to the buddhist philosophy I've been heavily studying lately, and my ponderings on the nature of consciousness... we are limited beings indeed.)

Interesting question. I'm not sure I understand, how would you see a possible Mad Max'esque future coming out of this libertarian dream as you put it?
