I have the first (Marsters-narrated) Dresden Files audiobook on CD. It's grand fun. You're welcome to borrow it if you'd like to check it out. I think it's about 10 hours long, give or take. E-mail me with your mailing instructions if you're interested.

The Malnpudl North Coast Lending Library is delighted to have you as a patron. I think you'll enjoy this a lot. :-)

LCBERGSTROM at COX dot NET is where everything goes, so you may as well use that one.

Harry Dresden rocks. Okay, I've only read one, but I loved it. It was so riviting I couldn't even skim the horrifically bloody scene...and I usually can't handle that level of gore at all!

Jim Butcher really wanted James Marsters for the movie/potential series for Sci-Fi, but, alas, James doesn't want to spend that much time in Canada. I am bummed. As much as I grew to despise Spike and grind my teeth when he appeared onscreen, I love James Marsters. He's a terrific actor and seems like a pretty cool guy in RL. I so wanted to be able to love his work again, and he would have been the PERFECT Harry. He doesn't fit the physical description so well, but he's got the 'tude down pat.

Ah well. Then again, Sci-Fi has insisted on renaming Harry 'Eric' for some reason I entirely fail to fathom.

(covets Books on Tape read by JM) (and I never listen to audio books at all)

Happy happy birthday!!!!!

And ever so many more!

You should get the rest of the books!!! I think he's up to book 8 and they just get better and better. I wish James would have agreed to do the show. I really do like him and even more so after meeting him and hearing the passion with which he talks about acting. I've never met someone who for the 2.3 seconds he's shaking your hand and saying hello can make you feel like you're the most important person in the room. I own all of the books and would be happy to send them to you to read if you like.

Why on earth did they feel the need to change Harry's name? I don't understand changes like that. Is there something wrong with the name Harry?

I've never listened to a book on tape. I hate being read to, but I think I could handle listening to James read. I've almost bought books ASH has read just to listen to him talk. (does that make me pathetic?)

I had a great birthday. Although I can tell this is going to be one of those years when I can't remember how old I am. I keep telling people the wrong age.

I have every intention of reading more! But I do enjoy being read to when the voice is good. JM and ASH definitely qualify. In fact, one might say they're overqualified. Yum. Damn I want to meet them both. Oh, and there is nothing pathetic about wanting to hear pretty men speak well. There's a reason one of my major fantasies is taking a long, hot bubble bath in Christopher Judge's voice. As for ASH, I don't care if he wants to recite poetry, read the phone book, or babble on for hours about a subject I don't even care about; I just want that lovely voice caressing every inch of me. He is total voiceporn ( ... )

Oh, Christopher Judge does have a heavenly voice. It's kind of like satin sliding over your skin. I'm broken hearted that ASH's series didn't get picked up. I want a show where he's the star and gets to talk a majority of the time. Not in 2 minute increments like Little Britain.

Hmmm, Harry Potter, 16 year old boy living in England at Hogwarts, waves a wand, fights the Dark Lord. Harry Dresden, 30-something year old wizard living in Chicago who has a talking spirit in a skull and is fighting a whole host of baddies and who has a fairy godmother. I can see the confusion. Why, oh why, do television producers assume we are all unintelligent?

Aren't pregnancy hormones awesome?

I cried at the office when a couple of the guys were taking the afternoon off to go golfing and they asked me to cover court for them. After ranting at them for not taking me with them (I'd gone before), I then burst into tears.

They are good friends (still) so it wasn't as embarrassing as it could have been. They also have wives and children of their own, so they understood what was going on.

There's no way to predict the tears.

Have you felt the baby move yet? I did at 15 weeks.

LOL. Luckily I haven't cried here at work, or freaked out at anyone. Review time is coming up though, and if it's anything like last year, there might be some hysterics.

I haven't felt the baby move yet. I'm in the middle of my 15th week, so maybe soon. That will be weird, I'm sure. I had a dream last night that I had the baby this week (but she was as big as a term baby) but I spent the whole dream freaking out because we hadn't bought ANY baby stuff yet.

By the way? The celery thing? That happened to me. We went out for prime rib and all I could taste was celery in the au jus. Husband had the "humor the crazy pregnant wife" look on all through dinner.

Matt had that look too. I loathe celery with every fiber of my being. I don't even like to buy it at the store for cooking because it's all I can smell in the car on the way home. But, that's weird that you had that too.

Just wait until you are craving heartburn at 4:00 in the morning...

Bugs are a great theme for a boy. For a girl, I wouls suggest a fairytale kingdom. /my .02

Why on earth would someone crave heartburn? That's just bizarre.

I can't do a fairytale kingdom theme because we're not going to know if it's a girl or boy. I think they're very gender neutral bugs. My other thought is to do horses and kind of a cowboy/cowgirl theme. I've found some cute stuff for that too.

I had a dream last night that I had the baby and it was a girl. So let's cross our fingers.
