Yeppers that's what the little building is. A weigh station.

Of the Kirks you and I have seen...Athens seems like the tallest of them to me. (not counting it's on a hilltop, I mean the actual building height)

UGH, horseflies are the WORST!! If they're the triangular-shaped biting variety those bites HURT like hell! If they're the "oversized housefly" variety they're danm near impossible to kill. We call them Robo-Flies when one finds its way into the store and into the pharmacy.

It did seem taller! And bigger in general, though that's probably because of how its laid out. I have no idea if its really bigger!

I don't know WHAT these things are, but they're not easy to kill! They're easy to hit with the swatter, but you have to hit them really hard or they just fly away. And they go *crunch* when you *do* hit them hard. Ew! They look like regular flies only HUGE and kind of like - stripey?

Stripey? o_O

Definitely of the RoboFly class.

PS - these pix brought back a touch of "brain fry" as I was processing the same views as you were! LOL!

Next time we gotta find a way in to the rest of it (and I don't mean showing up early enough to see the storage unit sie of it)...methinks campus maintenance or an individual security guy could be bribeable.

I'm all for it! I want to see the parts that aren't used for storage!

And I wanna go in the TB building too. And speaking of TB buildings... I really want to go in the TB building at Weston! Did you look in there?? Its absolutely rotten and amazing! In the basement I thought there was green carpet... uh, yeah... there's that much green crap that it looks like carpet! =D

No, I hadn't looked inside. I'd bet on the green crap in the basement being mold like the funky green slimy stuff in the stairwell of the "new" ward building.

You are the infestation Queen. And your house is really clean, I don't get it.

My house isn't that clean, but that's beside the point - the infestations always seem to be mostly confined to my basement! Its those damn rats that started it all!

Oh, and we have something called "grease ants" living in the wall behind our kitchen sink(!) If we leave, say, a knife with some butter on it, or spill a little olive oil on the cutting board, they're everywhere! Its so nasty! At least they seem to be keeping the sugar ants away, cause we haven't had any of those yet! :O

What in the flaming hell is a grease ant?!?! They have their own specific taste buds now??

Grease Ants I had never heard of them before, but Greg said they have them this summer where he works. They opened a bag of potato chips (or, rather the customer opened a bag of potato chips...) and it was FULL of ants! I guess the bag had a teeny tiny little hole in it, and they're so small they don't need much to get in. So that's where he learned of them, and now they are in our kitchen! :/ They don't want anything to do with anything sweet left out, like normal ants would. Some sugar spilled on the cutting board and there was nothing, but a tiny bit of olive oil and they're all over it! EW!!! I haven't seen them in a while because we've been really good about cleaning up anything they might like right away.

I like to think there is a place where all buildings always exist, all the time, in whatever fashion.

So when an old complex of buildings we love gets torn down, it goes to "Ruin World" to exist there forevermore.

That way, I can still explore them all someday.

I'm not even just BSing; I truly believe all this.
