Oh, those poor, broken men...this was such an amazing chapter.

I like how Sam was so insistent about wanting to give the deal a try. He would be willing to do anything and everything to bring Dean back, no matter what the consequences. Thank goodness John was there to bring him back from the edge. (Though part of me is immensely curious as to how the deal would have gone down if Sam had went through with it... )

And both of them breaking down just kills me. I want to give them so many hugs.

I was nervous about this chapter. It was tricky trying to balance their emotions and reactions. I didn't want them to be unbelievably emotional, but considering what they've been through I didn't think it would have been realistic for them not to break down at all. I'm so glad that you enjoyed it!

I was also a little worried about Sam and the deal, lol. I really don't think Dean was trying to be selfish by making the deal to save Sam, and I didn't want to make it seem like Sam wouldn't do the same thing. They both just had different circumstances to deal with, and also, Sam had John there where Dean didn't have anyone.

And now you have an alternate-ending plot bunny bouncing around in my mind, lol...I'll have to see if I have time to write it someday. :)
