You're not the only one who has asked me to continue, and I do have some other ideas for this universe that are slowly turning into something bigger. I can't make any promises, because school keeps me crazy busy, but I am hoping to add to it. :)
Thank you! The idea honestly came from nowhere, but I just couldn’t get the scene out of my mind, so I finally gave in a wrote it.
I’ve been having a lot of fun playing with the universe, and I do have some interesting ideas for where to take this. I don’t have a lot of free time, which is why I limited this to a one-shot, but I might just have to give in and turn it into more, lol.
This is both atmospheric and gripping; really well done. And I'm with the other two. I normally don't cry "sequel," as it is the single most simplistic response to a good piece of writing, but this does read like the first chapter of something bigger -- especially as the idea of "buying" someone who you want for his skills with a weapon does seem a tad ... shortsighted?
Thank you so much! Your comments made my night. :)
The scene with Barney came to me so vividly that I just couldn’t resist writing it. I was honestly hesitant to post it at first; I wasn’t sure that anyone would be all that interested, since it’s essentially a storyline from leftfield. But, I have been enjoying playing with all the possibilities in my mind, and I have gotten a lot of requests to keep going. So, Lord willing, I will probably be continuing. :)
As for the men who bought Clint, I’ll just say that buying Clint was only the first step in something bigger, and his willing cooperation won’t be necessary. All they were concerned with in this first part was his "acquisition." (Barney really did have no idea who he was dealing with.)
Not sure how I missed this chapter, I saw your post for Chapter 2 and thought I'd better start from the beginning. This is a very intriguing AU, and I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with it.
I'm a big fan of fics with attention to detail, and you have that in spades -- from the description of the light and sound at the beginning to Barney's pain at the end. You painted a fantastic picture in my head!
Thank you so much for all of your very kind comments! Your review made my day.
I honestly can't quite say where the idea for this fic came from, but this scene with Barney was just so vivid in my mind, and I couldn't resist trying to write it. I'm so glad that you're enjoying it!
