Of course, similar things were going through Mozenrath's mind, but he'd already made his up about where the transformations had come from. So to see Akio approach him with confidence proved that he, himself, should not think to question it. He lifted his chin regally and marked the place in the book he was reading. "Did I deliver?" he asked. Of course he didn't expect for this to be misconstrued in any way. He had a role to play and he simply meant to be certain he had performed properly.
Akio couldn't resist a cheerful grin at that question. "You were magnificent. I never thought we'd find such a suitable spot in the CES." And of course, Mozenrath had made a lovely Rose Bride.
"They performed as expected." Point of contention, however -- it wouldn't be Mozenrath if he didn't have at least one complaint. "Are w--" He paused. Reconsidered. "Are you going to allow chosen duelists to send 'champions' in their place in the future? It seems to defeat the purpose."
"I didn't anticipate that," Akio agreed readily. "I think if someone else tries it, you should refuse to let him or her enter." He wasn't so sure he disliked Sark though. "But this man is someone I might have included if he'd been around when the original invitations were sent."
He looked down at Mozenrath's face, trying to see if the complaining went very deep.
