Topher, too, was bored. He'd made some progress on his video games, but he was tired of being cooped up in his room. He decided to take a stroll through the ship and see what each level had to offer for entertainment. So far, there wasn't much.
When he got to level six, he took note of the usual common room, but there was also a room off to the side and from it her heard clacking sounds. He went to the doorway and saw a blond girl playing pool by herself. "Pool's a lot more challenging when you're not playing against yourself," he said, not caring if he was interrupting her alone time.
Veronica turned around quickly, eyeing the stranger for a few moments. She didn't recognize him really, so he was probably one of the newbies or someone that just didn't talk a lot, though she doubted that. No one really escaped her attention for very long.
She leaned against the pool cue, tipping her blonde head to the side. "Are you challenging me to a game then?"
"Sure, why not," Topher stated. "Can't be any worse than the other you that has 0 points."
He walked over to the wall where the extra pool cues were hanging and chose one. Then he stepped up to the table and chalked the tip of the stick. "You wanna wrack 'em up or do you want me to do it?"
Veronica watched him silently for a few moments, trying to figure if this new person was a friend or foe or someone that she could easily get a rouse out of, which was like a one-sided friendship, only benefiting her really. He hadn't annoyed her yet, which was a good sign but she wasn't about to warm up to him either.
She gestured with the pool cue in her hand. She wasn't that competitive when it came to sports of any kind, mostly because she knew that she was anywhere from average to terrible at them. "Be my guest."
