I haven't recc'ed anything in a long time :-) astridv linked Yuma's NCIS fic at A03, LOCKDOWN, and it's excellent. I haven't seen the last couple of seasons of NCIS, but that didn't really matter. The two shepherds at the barn are Gibbs and Ziva, so I keep my hand in, lolol.

I LOVED Shutter Island. It is quite atmospheric. I actually listened to this one on audio and it was totally worth it. I'm also a big fan of the Appaloosa series. Sparse writing, but very appealing. I love HItch and Cole. I recently read the latest in the series, the one not written by Parker. It was okay, but it made me miss Parker.

I have The Heroes on hold at the library. I hope to start that one very soon.

I looked at the next book and thought 'fanfic' and wasn't sure, so I didn't get it- even though I know lots of time the fanfic's better, lolol. It's amazing to me how sparse Parker is and yet, you can still see it all. The Heroes has oe of those lists at the beginning of all the characters and their relationships to each other and a map and that always puts me off, lolol. I sat on the book a long time, but when I finally cracked it, it wasn't hard at all to follow the characters even though there really were lots of them. Abercrombie is a good enough writer that it wasn't at all confusing. I actually wish they wouldn't put that kind intimidating list at the front :-)
