Third party candidates don't "steal" votes from anyone. They win them, just like the Republicans and Democrats. If the third-party candidate for MN Governor had stepped down when he saw the polls were tight, Jesse Ventura never would have been elected.

If we had Instant Runoff Voting for statewide races, it wouldn't be a problem.

yeah, when I stop to think I agree and I know better, just carried away annoyed, I guess. I could feel you bristle at that one from way over here on the other side of the river! You can give me a good poke and roll your eyes at your stoopid sis in law if you want, next time you see me. The runoff thing is something I knew about at one time. So many revolutions that need doing ...

On a scale of creepiness, Norm wins. Now that it is so close I wish they'd do a run-off. It just doesn't sit well that whoever wins will do so with only %42 of the vote
