AAAAH, THE SEVEN SAMURAI! AAAH! Which is to say, basically: I approve so freakin' much.

Also: swine flu pandemic literally makes me facepalm. I get that it's dangerous if you're in a place where medical treatment is difficult to come by, but good god it's really not anymore lethal than the normal flu (which also kills a few people in the US every year). I live right flush against the US-Mexican border and no one here is flipping out an wearing masks. It just boggles my mind that people got so 'OH GOD THE SKY IS FALLING' about all of this.

I know what you mean. I think it's the term 'pandemic' that has everyone floored. I mean, when you think that the last time it was used was the Hong Kong flu in '68 which killed 1,000,000 people, you can understand. And then the Spanish Flu, and then people start getting really freaked and think it's the new Black Death etc. Yeah. WHO and most of the governments seem to be handling it really well, it's the bloody media that's stirring the pot. Sigh. Don't they have some water-skiing budgies to report on or something?
