Hadrian's Wall

The week before last, we walked Hadrian's Wall. This being a National Trail, it meant following the sign of the acorn. Within a few hours, we started calling this "the unicorn," accidentally at first, but soon deliberately. Our B&B was very full of cherubs and nick-nacks from antique shops. The slip of paper with the wifi password had been carefully placed in the hand of a flying cherub descending from above...

That drawer in the two room B&B is full of weird stuff! Undoubtably 'ritual', on the basis of no one knowing what an earth it could be for, so it must be ritual! :D

And lol, you made a friend there too!! I wonder how much bacon Colin manages to beg stare until visitors give him in to his whiles (silly me, I forgot for a minute there that cats never lower themselves to beg, lol)! :D

I'm surprised that Colin the cat wasn't fatter. He very definitely had learnt that when strangers appear in the morning, bacon usually follows. He was lying in wait outside our door, ready to follow us to breakfast. "He loves bacon," said his accomplice, as he brought us our food. I love bacon, too... but I also love cats, and Colin at that point was my very best friend in all the world - he told me so repeatedly - so I had to share. Naturally, the second our plates were empty, we were dead to him and off he went.
