Spamalot! Go and see Spamalot! :) Or Les Mis, but Les Mis depends on its cast so much, whereas Spamalot is just brilliant anyway. :) The Lion King is worth seeing for the way they do the animals, but I wasn't terribly impressed with it as a show.

OR, go and see Avenue Q which is hysterically funny (but rude). In fact, if you had enough time, you could see both Avenue Q and Spamalot because they both do a 5.30 and 8.30 show on a Friday. And that early show doesn't sell terribly well, so you'd probably be able to get cheap but good tickets for it.

Sorry, got a bit excited there. :D

I did suggest going to see too, but Mike doesn't want to spend too much money :P

Nah, we looked at Chicago early on, but it never made the shortlist. Did you not like it?

I think we've both been busy this week! :P Mike's gift for me tht you suggested to him arrived this week. It rocks!

I saw Les Mis a month or so ago and it is possibly the best musical on stage at the moment. Utterly amazing. Blood Brothers is fantastic too (I've seen them both twice). Lion King is brilliantly staged with clever choreography and wonderful music, but the other two have stronger stories.

Have you seen Wicked? It has flying monkeys!

Flying monkeys does sound cool! I wish I could go see all these shows! Mike has seen Blood Brothers before (and taught it too) and really likes it, but this time we decided on Spamalot (with Jim Robinson from Neighbours, lol!)

Depends on your mood, but I'm solidly with the rest of the commenters. Spamalot was hilarious when I went to see it with Lisa, and is well worth the visit. But Les Mis is my all time favourite "stage show" and has such powerful music it is brilliant. So go for one of those two.

...

Or go see the Lion King and let me know if it's any good! ;P

I think it came down to those two for us as well, but Spamalot won out in the end and I am really looking forward to it! I would like to see Les Mis one day thoug

Do you go often?

Ha - sounds like I do, doesn't it?! Nah, not even once a year. Most I've been to see with the family for peoples birthdays etc - went to see Les Mis about 5 years ago! But when Lisa visited last year we were in London and Spamalot had to be seen. She also wants to see Avenue Q, which apparently is like an obscene stage version of The Muppets! Bizarre...
