I dreamed last night that I was in Charleston. I was at Robert Jordan's house, after the funeral. Jordan was there with me, but still dead. I was there helping him finish up his business. I helped him pack up his writing desk, finish letters, etc. It was definitely Jordan, he was cracking jokes the whole time about the funny looks people would have ( Read more... )

Why haven't I had any fun zombie dreams lately?

(Okay, maybe it's because I usually end up killing them, and I wouldn't want to kill a zombie RJ... It's just be such a waste.)

As the recipient of the "And you believed Ishamael" Moment, believe me when I tell you how much I understand. These sorts of mini-realizations have been hitting me since he died, but more than anything else I feel grateful that I touched his life in a small way from time to time after he touched mine in so many huge ways.

I'll never get to tell him part of my son's Hebrew name (Ishmael) was selected because of his work. If my wife and I have a daughter (sometime in the next 3 weeks), her middle name will be Elayne. Our choice for a boy's name is Perrin Elyas. I'll never get to give him the the other Lefthand Brewery items I picked up to go with the Red Hand sticker I gave him. I'll never get to ask him and about the Seanchan again and whether I really have to read their voices in a southern drawl. I'll never get to ask him questions about those two scenes in TSR that to this day stand out in my head more than any others ( ... )
