I rather think I'm going to enjoy this working at home thing. It's 2:30, and so far today I've gone to the grocery store, brined a chicken with lemon and garlic for dinner, kneaded a giant batch of challah dough, organized my previously very messy workbench, emailed one of my best friends, cleaned and filled the tank for our new betta, snuggled ( Read more... )

Ah, how I envy you.

Maybe someday my arms will be strong enough to let me make a living with my hands.

That's something I'm very worried about, actually -- that I'll get the business going and then my hands will go out. I'm being extremely careful about ergonomics, but still, I know there's likely a finite lifespan for this line of work.

Ah, well. Being a therapist doesn't require much use of hands, so that's always still a good option.

Stretch a lot. Take breaks. Ten seconds of your hands hanging at your sides every half hour will do you a world of good; it rests the muscles and encourages bloodflow to where you need it most.
