I wish I could remember more of these sorts of conversations after the fact. They happen astonishingly often.

Sad, but I learned makeup (sorta) from cheesey LJ makeup communities. A lot of girls(and sometimes boys) there go overboard with bright and dramtic makeup, there are some good basic tips too.

I wouldn't mind trying the super wild looks sometime though, could be fun.

Ps- this is Joli from 3wa, in case you wondered

I've looked at some of those communities, but they generally scare me off. Any suggestion for ones I might want to check out?

And hi! I have opt-in filters for a few different things, if you want to be added just let me know. Details here: http://www.livejournal.com/users/kythryne/8724.html

This site doesn't look too bad. There are also a lot of decent product reviews at makeupalley.com.

Most LJ comms. are more for looking and getting inspiration from. A lot of the looks are really wild, but some members will posy what they used and such. And if you ask they'll usually tell anyway.

This one is ok: http://www.livejournal.com/community/eyeshadowsluts/

Rating Comm. but you can still see the entries. Some less wild looks:

I learned how to put on make up from theater class. Now if you have seen a theater actor up close you will know that they put on make up very bright big and thick. Not good for everyday life.
