Dreams and Odd Occurances, Need more tests

Mar 30, 2009 20:50

Last night I dreamed Allen and I were living in the apartment behind Emerald Knights (a Game Shop in Burbank) and he lost one of his eyes. I told him to wait until the morning to replace it with a worthy one from the jar of assorted eyes that were on a side table ( Read more... )

Seeing a Raven after a dream about eyeballs coming out would completely freak me out. Such a weird "coincidence".

I think that's a reasonable amount of ultrasounds, given the complication you had at the beginning, and how little they know so far about the baby that's in there now. I'm just glad you can get those done now! I was pre-diabetic when pregnant with my little ladies man, and HATED all the labwork we had to do because of it (the fasting and those little pre-test drinks were AWFUL), but it was all worth it in the end.

As for the whole diabetes thing, if you take careful care of it while pregnant, it can (and usually does) go away if you didn't have diabetes before being pregnant (as was the case with Danae).

And yeah, they're just being careful, so even if the dildocam is uncomfy, it hopefully puts your mind at ease to continue to hear things are going well.

Can I drink water before a fasting test? Not the glucose tolerance, but just a fasting test? I am so unsure.

I never heard of a fasting test but did a quick google search to find out what it was... seems like you can drink water. It probably wouldn't hurt to give the office a call and ask anyway just to be 100% sure.

If you do have gestational diabetes the size of your baby will be monitored very closely towards the end of your pregnancy as mums with g.d. tend to produce big babies.

Strange dreams are one of the weird pregnancy side effects... had a few of those myself!

Oh and forgot to mention, enjoy the ultrasounds as a chance to bond with the little one. I used to love looking at mine in the little screen.

I saw a raven, too! darth_beryl March 31 2009, 23:11:54 UTC
One of my aunts had gestational diabetes when she was pregnant with my twin cousins. It went away after they were born, though. BTW, when I was pregnant with Auron, I was borderline for GD.

Don't worry about all the ultrasounds. It just means they want to make sure everything is running smoothly. I wish they had been this thorough when I was pregnant with the boys. Granted, I know all of the poking and prodding can get rather uncomfortable, but it'll all be worth it in the long run.

Oddly enough, the day I brought Auron home from the hospital, there was a HUGE raven that landed right in front of me. He stood there, stared at me and Auron, and then flew away.

I had something like 18 odd ultrasounds around the time Tadpole was about to be borned.

*hugs* What a roller coaster ride. I am so sorry I haven't been around earlier. I am so happy to here there is a little one with a heart beat in there!

Its great you now have insurance and that your pregnancy can now be followed by doctors.

Given the complications you've described I think the number of ultrasounds is normal.

I had a pretty smooth pregnancy and still had an ultrasound everytime I saw my doctor. Plus several extra ultrasounds with a specialist... on average one ever couple weeks until about week 36.

I'll be thinking of you... Please keep us posted on your progress. If you ever need to chat my y!m ID is chandamee
