THE HOUSE...

*Ominous music*

Inspection was today. Told us pretty much what we expected. We're both feeling very positive about it and are moving forward.

Field to the left of the house. The neighbors keep cows as pets.

And here's the cows.

The neighbors on the other side have horses. The husband also is studying birds of prey, and has an owl.

The field in front of the log house has horsey jumpy things.

Horsies. The neighbors own a few, and they also board other people's horses. Their barn is apparently nicer than many people's homes (at least, that's what we heard).

Driveway. You can see the log house's roof through the trees.

Woods.

The drive way loops around in back of the house.

Front of the house. The yard has fig and pecan trees, and there was a deer grazing there.

There's an alternate wood-burning heater thing outside.

Giant tree with a smiley Greg.

Shots of the first floor.

Fireplace in the kitchen.

Master bedroom.

Small room off of the master bedroom.

Upstairs.

Bedroom upstairs. Apparently the seller's mother-in-law is to blame for painting it. Fortunately, it's the only painted room.

There's also another bedroom up there with a bathroom in between it and the painted room. I don't know why I didn't take a pic of it. Perhaps it was the "Twilight" posters that drove me away.

Anyways... it needs to be appraised, and we need to have some termite inspectors come and check it out (we had some come today, but their company apparently outright refuses to service log homes). We get the building inspector's report tonight, and the radon level report on Sunday. We know the roof needs to be replaced and the basement needs to be gutted, not to mention the wood rot outside that needs fixing.

So that's it so far. We're both pretty excited.
