     The epitome is the very essence of what is being conveyed.  The quintessential meaning, idea, or thought wished to be expressed.  At the quintessential point of confusion, one becomes compelled to answer the questions that have ravaged the mind.  However, there is another path one can take when the essence of complexity is upon him or her:
