The other day I had a short lucid dream! well, it started as "normal" dream but then I realized I was dreaming and was able to change it's course because it was going to be a bad dream. Look, I have to make this comparison. The new book I'm reading is Dragon Blood and just in 2 chapters the character of the protagonist is already set, we know what to expect based on his personality, he's a rude young mercenary in a bad life-or-death situation. It wasn't that hard. But in 4 chapters of Kaleidoscope of Death I still know nothing ( Read more... )

And so far I have mixed feelings.

The horror aspect is fine but there's something off in the writing. Character's reactions don't feel natural and, so far (4 chapters in), we're not really getting anything out of them. What I mean is that I don't feel they have any personality or characteristic or anything that represents them, as if they're just ( Read more... )

And my soul feels better *sigh*

To be honest, it's an anti-climatic end, but somehow fits the novel, since it's kind of realistic and not mindlessly optimistic, life goes on, there's not a definite end for anything and things continue to happen at their own time. I DROPPED IT!!! lol

39 chapters is all I could stand, it was way too bad!

After I dropped it, I continued reading another novel I had on stand by (new post for that one later) which was also told in first person pov, just to realize that first person wasn't my problem with Desharow Merman at all.
