Arthur/Merlin, canon alternative reality

Arthur and Merlin (and maybe some of the Knights) accidently get into an alternative universe, where Arthur died along with Ygraine right after his birth. So Uther is even more mad than in canon - he hunts down magic like crazy. Arthur and Merlin meet magical resistance lead by a man named Emrys - it's this universe's Merlin, of course. He is a really powerfull sorcerer and is grim and hardened by the constant war between magic users and Camelot. He's not like our smiley kind Merlin at all. Morgana is his right hand. Take it wherever you want from here, but I'd like to see a magic reveal (Emrys is a sorcerer, surely Arthur can put two and two together ;)) and a happy ending for our Arthur and Merlin - they help somehow in this universe, discovering along the way their feelings for each other, and return home, where they also make everything alright. Tada!! Angst angst angst and rainbows and unicorns in the end.

Different anon from the one above, but I'm working on this for my NaNo right now. Can't promise that it'll reach 50k (hoping it will, but sometimes plots have a mind of their own), but I'll post it in its entirety once it's done, hopefully some time in Dec.

So sorry, I posted an answer here like, a month ago, but only just discovered that it's not here T___T Don't what happened(( So I'm going to express my joy agaaaaaaaaaaaain!! :D So glad that both of you, dear anons, liked the prompt and want to write it!
