In effect, Angel reached the same conclusion about Fred that you did about Dawn.

And in this icon, Avon is wearing the grey jacket with a Buffy quote.

WRT sailor suit, snowgrouse did a wonderful animated icon of Blake literally pushing Avon's buttons in that outfit. My own vote for "sexiest Avon costume" is the lobster trousers with the plain black poloneck.

I found Avon awfully sexy in the black shirt he wore under the gray jacket (IIRC we only saw the shirt in the Mellanby domicile.)

(I do admit, though, that as a person who *sews*, I find the fact that the insets on the gray jacket do NOT line up properly is a distraction.)

I thought he might have been wearing that black shirt during the yoga scene at the beginning of "Voice from the Past," but I just checked and it's a different one.

And actually, I don't think the wraparound shirt he wears chez Mellanby is the shirt he wears under the jacket. He seems to have a high-necked shirt on under the jacket in that episode.

The wraparound is dead sexy, though.

. . . wow, I'm giving this too much thought.

Maybe Hal lent it to Avon. MMmm... now my mind has gone into a bad place...

I am pretty crazy about Dawn but completely agree re: The Gift. Sacrificing six billion people to save Dawn would be bad enough on its own - sacrificing six billion people so Dawn lives an extra thirty seconds before dying with the rest of the world is insane. And while I do understand Buffy's inability to see it that way, you're right, that's what Giles is for.

I do like Dawn some of the time. I just wish she hadn't been written as a twelve-year-old when she wasn't. Especially since she continued to be written as a twelve-year-old for three seasons.

I agree with you on the Avon outfits, man. The shirt he wears in Aftermath is not the one he wears under the grey S2 jacket, unfortunately, but the grey jacket is definitely my favorite "Avon" both in terms of mental-stability and looks. I like his "sailor" outfit too, though, and am also rather fond of the brown outfit he wears in "Ultraworld." XDXDXD Unpopular indeed. I reaaaaaaaally don't like him in his leather S4 things, although the non-leather one with the "peacock" looking collar is not AS bad ahahahhaha.

I agree absolutely about his and Vila's character arcs in S4 though. Not OOC at all, considering what they've been through.

I also agree about the apostrophe.

I agree with you about Dawn and Martha. I think shaggydostail had a post about the latter, but I can't find it now.

Thanks!

Your Martha answer is fabulous, btw. She's cool and all, but what part of "Rose was an anomaly" don't people get? Seriously.

Well, I don't think the Doctor was in love with Rose, either. Or at least, not in any way that didn't spring from Time War trauma.

You won't get any flack from me on that one, but I'm sure it's one of those "unpopular" opinions, too, given the large number of Rose/Doctor people around here :). I just always appreciate when people point out that Martha's not just there to be some sort of two dimensional love interest for the doctor.

Whoo! Thanks! As a Martha fan (who doesn't ship her with Ten either, omg!), it really confuses the hell out of me how a lot of her fans seem to hold the opinion that the whole of her character was undermined because Ten didn't want to shag her. I mean...we must love her on her own merit, right? There's got to be something else they see in her that makes them such big fans, and yet...

Also, while I am angry at him for being passive-aggressive and treating her like a nuisance he had to lug around out of obligation when he's the one who asked her on, that's a separate point from returning her romantic feelings. A lot of people seem to confuse the two.
