Dear kingdom hearts fandom

Please stop bashing Doug Erholtz, Richard Epcar,Alyson Stoner,and Meaghan Jette Martin for replacing David Boreanaz, Billy Zane, Hayden Panettiere, and Brittany Snow.

It's not their fault that the original actors left. So please stop bashing their personal lives.

People still do that? Man, that's silly. There's really no need to bash. They're all pretty good, as far as replacements go. Not like it's Pokemon or anything.

...Though I do love to poke fun at Doug Erholtz for sounding like he has an eternal cold.

The message board I go to had to ban voice actor talk altogether because the wars completely got out of hand and derailed topics left and right. The result is that we can't even discuss the Japanese voice actors' voices without getting infracted. I like talking about voice actors' work so it makes me sad. Goddamned bashing ruins all my fun.

Got to say, though, in most cases, the replacements had more voice acting experience than the people they succeeded. Doug Erholtz and Richard Epcar did a lot of anime, and I at least know Alyson Stoner from W.I.T.C.H. (which made me squee when I found out she was playing Xion and Kairi in Re:CoM). So sometimes, it is a good call to see if you can get people who are more experienced in a form of acting where you have to convey everything solely through your voice.

That and Alyson Stoner was acting before Camp Rock.

Eh, Bliiy Zane just seems to have prescheduled movies and such. It's a matter of, "Can we catch him with free time for the next game..." it seems.

It's not that I don't like that they were replaced, but... Some left a lot to be desired.

Like with Xehanort's Heartless. While fucking PERFECT for Xemnas, Epcar... ...Left a lot to be desired for the Heartless. There was just something missing in the voice. He did much better in RE: CoM, and before I whined, I actually looked up Billy Zane and he was doing other things at the time, so it seems that it wasn't likely that he didn't want to come back but he just couldn't.

Mena as Aerith... ...I'm sorry. Aerith is a very emotional woman. Mena lacks emotional voice acting for Aerith. :/

Yeah, Xehanort's Heartless... ...Is really, REALLY flashy. REALLY flashy. Therefore, he needs a very flashy personality and very flashy voice.

I just don't like how Epcar does Xehanort's Heartless. Just... He's LACKING something, you know? :/ Something Zane had. He did better in RE: CoM, but something's missing from the personality.

See, I wouldn't mind the voice change--if he could manage to get the same amount of personality to it. :/ Ansem the Fake is FLASHY. He's there, he knows it, and you aren't getting rid of him. Zane got the full personality in every word. Epcar... ...Doesn't manage it. I dunno if he's just intimidated by what Zane did previously, because he DOES get better, but, just... D: Try a bit hard, plzkthnx?
