So, you wanna write about the FF characters/put in FF characters who didn't appear in KH in your fic, right? That sounds dandy! But there are a few things to remember...

And when this is done properly, it is a wonderful thing. Such as with ginger ninja's (is that right?) fan fics A Darker Road and All The Roads We've Walker. She incorporates characters we don't meet in KH Canon (Barret, Red XIII/Nanaki, Zidane, Tifa before she showed up in KH 2) and I love her for it.

I actually thought Leon's characterization is similar to Squall's characterization after the events of FFVIII. Where he's all "I'm not alone anymore."

Still, WORD.. Big, giant, shiny WORD.

Word. I sporked a fic that did the exact same thing with Leon and Riona. Of course, that was only the chemical-tasting icing on the badfic cake, but it was still really annoying.

That's a really neat idea, you know. I'm gonna go look for a fic along those lines. If kh fandom has done every variation on the highschool AU slashfic, someone's gotta have done that too.

I was greatly alarmed when I saw this rant because I am in the process of writing a canon-verse LeonRinoa fic, not just my cheat-sheet AU in which Leon is actually FFVIII Squall. Then I remembered that great minds think alike! But I'm just going to say that LEONRINOA IS MINE, MINE, MINE!

And I enjoy bringing in other Final Fantasy characters. One fic features Reno, as in NOTAXEL!Reno. In my high school AU I even brought in characters from FFIV.

You know, one of the six others before VII?

It's a challenge, and a really nice brain-stretching one. It's also a terrible, terrible ego-bringer-downer because, well, no one recognizes the characters from FFIV, no one particularly cares about the massive amount of Disney characters I've been mustering up, and I'm pretty sure no one wants to read about Leon and Yuna tentatively working their way to a relationship of sorts. :(

And maybe Yang's wife giving Sora a frying pan to hit him on the head with. Yeah, it's gotta have that, if nothing else.

Yang's the gym teacher! So writing his wife and her frying pan in will be no big deal.

Kain is a somewhat secretive private detective who is respected but also a little bit feared. He'll come in later--as Yuna's other cousin! XDDD

Cecil is on the air force as a rescue helicopter pilot (also coming in later) and Rosa (already there) is one of the English teachers at the high school. Edward is the very mellow art teacher for Yuna, Riku, and Namine. He's already in, too.

Upon reading this, I realize my genealogies are very complicated. But I love Paine's parents!

I concur wholeheartedly with this. I went ahead and plopped Rinoa into a fic of mine, and I had to change her background so that she was alongside everyone else in Radiant Garden, with an obscene amount of little references and drawbacks to FF8 with both of them.

Thanks for making it so brilliant to read! I've been getting a bit sick of FF > KH, too. Like, KH is the One Epic FF Crossover To Rule Them All, so, seriously. More power to KH, and you for writing this. ♥
