. . .Maybe it's just me, but I felt patronized and insulted while reading this. It's like they were going "HAH!! I know technical musical terms. So there!" They could have written it in English. Forget fangirl Japanese, fangirl Italian's the way to go, baby! Yeesh ( Read more... )

WELCOME TO THE REALM OF THE KHRANTERS. YOU CAN NOT GO BACK.

Um. Sorry. Community policy :D /lolnotreally

Haven't you heard? Fanfictions are going to be including in lit books soon and they need a list of vocabulary words to put in the back at the glossary. She's just doing the school system a service! (T_T Haha, no.)

NOOOOOO! WHAT HAVE I GOTTEN MYSELF INTO NOW?!

If fanfictions are put into Lit books, I'd gouge out my eyes with a spoon. *moans* The spelling's bad enough already. Why, Mr. InChargeOfEducationalFacilities? Why would you do that to us?

Fuck the TAKS test. I had to take that ridiculous, worthless piece of filthy shitrag Can we tell I utterly despise it?...

Eeergh. Stupid people high on terms. I used to swim, and I know people don't understand a lot of the jargon that goes along with it. I know I personally fall into problems because I know and utilize a vocabulary and a horrid mixture of Victorian grammar and modern grammar. Both of which doesn't always work well, either.

Status quo, is the best I can work out. The problem is, their standards are absolutely worthless, and they force teachers to teach to what's going to be on the TAKS test, which limits what you can learn.

The big thing that was the pisser for me was that I was the first year to have to take it--we had been trained for the TAAS test until my senior year (The TAAS I hated, too.), so the format was way out the window.

As a junior when the TAKS was set into action, we got most boned - we had to take TAAS and TAKS. While the state didn't /require/ TAKS for graduation for us (we were just the benchmark class), most schools did, because it made them look good or something. Haaaaaaate. Also, it wasn't until I read the comments that it occurred to me, hey, they must be Texan to know about TAKS. lol. (Man, there's a lot of us here.)

At least people are doing fangirl languages that I understand. When they get to fangirl russian, then I'll have to shank a bitch. Romance languages and japanese are at least readable. xD

Rather, at my school it wasn't required for graduation, just for things like the ability to park on campus ever. And it counted for grades in some classes as an exam, to discourage bullshitting it.

Well, romanji Japanese is readable, anyway. ^^; But yeah, if people start using fangirl Arabic or something, my faith in humanity will go into the negatives. Beyond the negatives.
