Wow. Love the last part there. I guess that never really occurred to me. The poor guy!

Yeah, when I got to the whole "you can never be rejoined without the apocalypse of doom" bit, I stopped for a moment and then realised the whole bit where (the original) Ventus is pleading with MX before he gets attacked has this whole other dimension to it because, y'know, he actually dies. (And then I was sad about it and this kind of sprang from it!)

Anyways, ramblings aside, thanks for reading and I'm glad you liked it! ^-^

And Ventus, with all the logic of a child who’d been told off just that morning and had already wandered further from the gardens than he was meant to and was probably facing trouble when he did get back, had figured well, no one would miss me and happily followed the stranger far away.

I really, really love that logic, because it just feels like a child to me.

For some reason, I've never really thought about those aspects of Ventus's character. Very intriquing.

I'm glad you think so, because that was what I was really aiming for with this whole bit. Ventus is kind of fun to play around with as a character, because we know nothing about him before he gets split in two.

Thanks for reading! = )

I kind of love theorizing as to where the the BBS trio came from originally.

and this! original!ventus! I didn't ever really think about this, about the fact that he is dead and gone and as much as I love the Ven we get to see and play as....well now I'm all kinds of depressed about his story :(

especially when you throw lines like Ventus, the real Ventus, was gone forever: alone, forgotten, un-mourned. at me.

Me too! That's one of the good things about KH in general, I think- lots of things are left open to the player's own interpretation.

The Ven is BBS is adorable and I love him to bits, but still, I feel pretty bad for the person he might have once been. So I'm glad this came out OK! Thanks for reading. ^-^

Just realized I forgot to comment on this, probably because I was too busy weeping.

I really like this, the exploration of how the Ven we see, who's all light, is no more and no less the "real", original Ven than Vanitas is, who's all darkness. The official storyline glosses over it, because "our" Ven is the light part, and that's better, right? Except for how no, it doesn't work that way. The Ven who existed first was torn into bits, and that can never be an improvement.

The way I always wanted BBS to have ended, or at least to have ended if it hadn't had to be a tragedy, was for Ven to re-absorb Vanitas all the way, until they went back to being the person they used to be again. I still believe that's the best solution, so I'm going to cling to that when your fic makes me cry.

Yeah, I think that might've been a more satisfying ending, especially as light and dark aren't meant to be able to survive without each other. (Though in general I was so D : about ALL of the endings that I didn't even get round to thinking about it for a while!) Plus I'm kind of attached to the idea that the original Ven was just another normal kid who happened to be unlucky enough to get picked by Master Xehanort.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! ^-^ It's always flattering to know that something like this has had an effect on people or made them think, so thanks for reviewing!
