A dreary Sunday...

Saturday started with the sound of rain - a lot of rain which cleared by around 8am, but cleared the air and it was much cooler as a result (barely 21C/70F all day).  At 10am Youngest Cee and GF(P) came and picked us up as we were going to a local restaurant for brunch which was lovely. There was lots to catch up with them (YC's job is going very ( Read more... )

I could do with your retractable roof for the garden too. Our garden is a total mess but we haven't been able to get on it for ages, first because it was too hot and now it will be too wet. We're never happy with our weather are we :)

It’s always wrong in the summer! I’m glad it’s cooler though!!

Hurrah for Youngest Cee enjoying his new job and getting good feedback.

We still have no rain - I think it must be a couple of weeks now, and that only an hour one night. But the heat is reduced to manageable 21 or 22 - honestly even watering the garden felt like too big a chore when we were over 30.

I’m pleased for Youngest Cee :)

I wish it would stop raining now!

What is this thing called rain? We haven’t had any rain since June 13.

Yay YC! That sounds really promising.

It really is a dreary day. I accidentally napped in the afternoon and missed a restorative yoga class, so your tai chi puts me to shame!

It really is promising for YC - apparently he found out something for a report they hadn’t considered and were very pleased with him.

We ended up going out in the afternoon as it briefly cleared up - but more rain this evening :(

There have been some fairly spectacular photos and clips of the torrential rain and floods down in your neck of the woods. It's been dry here all day, and warm enough to eat outside at lunchtime. R&S visited us for a lightning visit, and it took them a long while to get back to Lewisham, avoiding the congestion charge area. They are safe now, so it's bed for me. I hope it's not quite as devastating as the Met Office keeps threatening.

Thankfully we had temporary flooding only for the worst day last Wednesday and in my road we were fine but it has been really bad for some roads around me.

It’s going to be 24C and humid/rainy again here today but the rest of the week there’s more rain forecast and cooler weather. It’s very irritating!
