Final Yunho parked his car at the road side to Changmin's workplace. He tuned a random melody as he glanced to the coffee shop behind the tinted window of his car which had so many patrons already. Changmin must have been very busy at this rate, Yunho mused as he pulled the hand brake and turned the machine off. Today he had more than enough time to visit Changmin before he had to go to the hospital this evening, but it wasn't for long. Yunho just needed to check a few documents and then meet up with a patient for an appointment that had been scheduled a week before and then he could go back to his home, or maybe he could pick Changmin up after his part time job at the bookshop and maybe he could take the boy out for a late dinner before he took Changmin back home.
He smiled at the plan that he had just set out, and he was about to get out of his car when he noticed his young lover and Junsu coming out from the shop. He proceeded to make his way to the best friends with a smile on his face. Only the smile had been swept away from his face the moment he acknowledged that Changmin and Junsu were in the middle of a heated argument. He halted his step as he observed the arguing duo in front of the shop. Neither of them was aware of his presence.
Yunho continued to observe and saw Changmin's defensive gestures as he countered whatever Junsu had said before, while Junsu was just listening to him with a pleading look on his face.
This situation had seriously concerned Yunho. He knew that whatever the reason they were arguing on wasn't a matter that he can take lightly.
"I wouldn't say anything if this didn't go too far. Look at you, you were hurt. Did you expect me to just sit and wait for you to come back home while I know that you won't be safe there and there is nothing that I can do about it? And do you care enough about how Yunho hyung would feel if he knew about this?“ Yunho listened to Junsu's desperate reply to Changmin and was alarmed when he heard that Changmin was hurt. Something or a certain someone had surely hurt his Changmin and Junsu even clearly said that Changmin wasn't safe.
What in the hell had happened? Yunho wasn't happy at the fact that all this time Changmin had kept something so serious concerning his safety from him.
"That's why i don't want him to know about this, Junsu. He must not know about it and you will help me to keep this away fr-"
"Junsu has to help you to keep WHAT away from me, Changmin-ah?" Yunho asked coldly, completely cutting them off as anger started to rise at the pit of his stomach and sent a negative current to his brain while he stepped closer to Changmin and Junsu, after deciding that he had heard enough to just stay and listen.
"H-hyung..." Changmin's eyes widened as he saw Yunho while Junsu bit his lips hard at Yunho's unexpected presence at the scene.
"Tell me, Changmin-ah, what is it that I must not know?" He eyed Changmin, and then Junsu with the same piercing expression demanding a true answer from both of them.
Changmin looked away, refusing to meet Yunho's eyes and revealing the side of his face that had been changing color from the usual tan or flushed pink to a bluish mark as the evidence of a forming bruise. Yunho's eyes got darker when he noticed the bruise on Changmin's face and he grabbed Changmin's chin, keeping it still so that he could check and examine the mark that Yunho knew must be hurt. Changmin winced and, from the corner of his eyes, Yunho could see Junsu fidgeting on his feet, obviously not knowing what to do nor how to react on Yunho's movement to Changmin. At the end, Yunho ignored it and focused his attention to Changmin again. He forced Changmin to look straight at him by cupping his jaw so that Changmin wouldn't have a chance to run away from his gaze.
"And this... What is this, Changmin-ah? What happened to your cheek?"
"It's... It's no-"
"Don't you dare! Don't you dare saying that it was nothing or even make an excuse that you got it from an accident! I'm a doctor, Changmin-ah, and you can't fool me with such a haste excuse that you could ever think in this situation." Yunho moved his hands to grip on Changmin's shoulder. He was expecting that Changmin would finally tell him the truth, but he was wrong. Changmin stared back at him with such an even colder gaze. Those eyes were stubborn and refusing to give in to Yunho's compulsion.
Changmin suddenly removed Yunho's hands that were settling on his shoulders none too gently before he straightened his uniform. When he looked back at Yunho again, his expression was blank as if he wanted to try to hide his emotion, and Yunho stepped back a little at the invisible wall that Changmin built between them there.
"Please, hyung. I can't and I don't want to talk about it right now." Yunho glared at Changmin but the younger didn't falter. "Now, will you excuse me, if you haven't noticed i still got a lot work to do."
"Changmin!" Yunho called for him and grabbed his wrist to prevent him from leaving, but Changmin yanked his hand free very easyly and that made Yunho frustrated, even more when he saw Changmin retreating to enter the shop and got back to work without another word.
Yunho looked at Junsu who could only shrug his shoulder and smiled apologetically at him.
"Please, Junsu. Whatever it is, please tell me. I've heard the both of you enough, and I knew that whatever happened with Changmin it was serious." Yunho asked, a pleading look in his eyes, and Yunho sighed deeply the moment Junsu shook his head ruefully.
"I'm sorry, hyung. Believe me, I would love to help you to answer that question. But now, I can't, I promised Changmin that I will let him go to you by himself. But don't worry, for now, he's okay and I promise if everything gets out of control I will tell you immediately. For now, just be patient with him, 'kay?"
Yunho nodded slightly at Junsu who smiled weakly at him, patting his shoulder gently before going back inside the shop, leaving Yunho who still fought with his thoughs.
'If everything gets out of control.'
Yunho can't help but think about those words. He knew he should feel a little relief, that Junsu will tell him eventually, but then when he thought about it more, it was still unnerving. He felt uneasy and more worried and also curious, especially when he remembered about the bruise on Changmin's cheek.
What happened? Who was it that even dared to lay a hand on his Changmin, even more, hitting him?
The thought of it made Yunho furious. He clenched his fists at the knowledge that someone had been hurting his lover, but eventually he sighed. For now, the only thing he could do was waiting, but of course he won't let go of this matter easily. He really should talk with Changmin later.
With that, he shook his head and massaged his forehead tiredly before he followed his two dongsaengs to enter the shop.
After that, Yunho took a seat at the available table at the corner, a little bit deeper inside than his usual seat, but he won't complain. The place where he was sitting provided a perfect view, from where he could watch Changmin working diligently, taking and serving the customer's orders while padding across the shop between the counter and the patron's tables. He never took his eyes away from Changmin and he felt really sad when the younger didn't meet and also refused his eye contact. Even when he had to serve Yunho's favorite drink, Changmin didn't stay when he usually made a small talk or joke to Yunho.
It stayed the same almost the whole time when Yunho was there, and when it was finally the time for him to leave for hospital, Yunho paid his drink and left with no word to Changmin. His heart was heavy when he noted that Changmin didn't even notice him leaving.
He sighed when he sped up his car. At first, he thought that today will be great since it was the first time he would meet Changmin in a week and he would never expect that the situation would turn out in such a mess.
At a time like this he really wanted to blame himself for being angry, for being such a coercive boyfriend, needy and so demanding, but he also knew that he was behaving like that because he was worried for Changmin and he wanted the best for him. It was a natural act, because he loved him.
In the end, Yunho decided that tonight, he should talk to Changmin, and whatever happened he had to get to the bottom of this problem with Changmin, whether he liked it or not.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Yunho glanced at the clock, anticipation heated his nerves since he had decided that he must confront Changmin after his work was done tonight. He had been thinking about how he should do it and he thought about it long enough that he was sure it was the best way to do it.
It was five minutes to eleven when Yunho parked his car in front of the bookstore where Changmin worked. According to Changmin’s schedule, he should get off soon.
He waited patiently as he observed the bookstore from his car, watching people coming out one by one from the store, expecting Changmin’s figure. Then twenty minutes were passing and still there was no sign of his lover coming out from the now dim bookstore, but he decided to wait a little bit more. He thought that maybe Changmin had still something to finish inside.
Yunho glanced at his watch again, it said ten minutes to twelve. Yunho got a bit worried, did Changmin have so many work that he had to stay at the store this late? He already wanted to jump out of his car, to take a peek of what Changmin was doing inside the store, but he stopped. He reminded himself that breaking into Changmin’s work place at this hour wasn’t a good idea. If he was right, the two of them would have a serious talk, and he had to keep Changmin’s mood in a good term so they could have their talk nice and slow.
Thus he waited and a couple of minutes later, Yunho saw that the store light was turned off and he felt relief.
He got out from the car expectantly waiting for his young lover to come out from the store. Then, he saw a young man coming out, but it was definitely not Changmin’s tall and lean figure. He saw the man who was locking the store’s door, instead of waiting someone to follow him to get out from the shop. It meant only one thing: he was the last person to come out from the store.
But where was Changmin? Did he take a night off? Yunho thought, frowning at the knowledge that his lover wasn’t at the store. He then decided to approach the man and ask about Changmin before the man was gone.
“Excuse me…” Yunho started, and the man frowned questioningly at him.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to disturb you. I just... can I ask you something?”
“…yes.”
“Did Changmin take a night off? Or did he finish early?”
“Changmin?” The man frowned. “Did you mean Shim Changmin?”
“Yes, Shim Changmin.”
“Oh, he’s not working at the store anymore.”
“What? Since when?” Yunho’s eyes widened as confusion clouded his mind very fast.
“Yes, and If I’m not mistaken, it was over two weeks ago. He said that he can’t make it to work at the store anymore since he had a new job.”
“Oh… thank you very much.” Yunho bowed thankfully and the man flashed a small smile before taking a step away from Yunho.
That was really weird, Yunho thought.
Why didn’t Changmin tell him that he was already quitting this job? He thought again while walking towards his car.
And he already had another job? What kind of job that he was doing that he didn’t want to tell Yunho about it at all?
He dialed Changmin’s phone, the one that Yunho bought for him, but only to be greeted by the voicemail: Changmin turned his phone off. He sighed in annoyance before returning to his phone and dialed Junsu’s number. He thought that Junsu must have known about this.
“Hello…”
“Yunho-hyung? What’s up? It’s passed midnight.” Junsu’s voice sound so sleepy.
“I know, Su, I’m sorry. I am in front of the bookstore where Changmin was working, but later I found that he had quit his job here because he found another job. Is he home yet?”
“…”
“Su, are you still there?” Yunho asked again when he heard only a soft breathing coming out from Junsu’s line.
“Umm… I don’t know if I should tell you this, Hyung. Changmin forbid me to tell you.”
“No, Junsu, you definitely have to tell me. What happened?”
“…Okay, Hyung, I’ll tell you. I’ll deal with Changmin about this later. I’m also worried about him, and please Yunho, whatever happens, you have to stop him from working there anymore. He’s risking himself.”
“What??” Yunho got even more confused when he heard that. “What kind of work exactly that he does?”
“I can’t explain now, hyung, but you’ll find out as soon as you are there. Here’s the address…”
Not wasting his time, Yunho went to the address that Junsu had told him over the phone right away after the line went dead. From Junsu’s worried voice, Yunho knew he should get there as soon as possible.
When he got there, he eyed the place dangerously, observing it any further inside his car. It looked like a bar, no, it must be a club, judging from the loud music banging outside and the sound of a lot of cheering people, laughing or screaming dirty words that Yunho detested to hear. He took a further notice when he acknowledged that this place only had male customers walking in and out. And soon, he knew exactly what kind of place Changmin was working at by its front appearance and it didn’t give him a good feeling, at all.
Yunho’s eyes turned dark when he got out from his car, determined to take Changmin out of this place as soon as possible. He just almost passed the entrance before two big guys stopped him, they must be bodyguards, and they asked him for his member card. Yunho smirked. Such a thoughtful way for only a low class club like this to actually had a membership. Of course Yunho didn’t have any of this said member card, but he brought up his wallet anyway, taking out a few strands of ten thousand won from his wallet and handed them to the two guys. Yunho watched them exchanging a look and then smirked triumphantly when the two guys willingly let him pass into the club.
Well at a place like this, there was nothing money can not solve. That was reality.
He snapped himself back to his main purpose of finding his lover. He then looked around, narrowing his eyes over the full dancing floor, tracing the table filled with drunken men one by one, but still there was no sign of Changmin. Yunho then moved further inside the club, interjecting himself between flushed bodies while scrunching his nose at the smell of sweats also perfume mixed up with strong scents of hard liquor from those people on the dance floor. He finally made it to reach the bar with a sighed of relief and after a short time, he found the tall figure of his lover who lifted a tray of beers and tequila and brought them to one of the tables on the right side.
Yunho sighed deeply, before making his way to Changmin’s position. Anger was already at the pit of his stomach.
Yunho stood right in front of the boy and Changmin gasped in surprise at the other’s sudden appearance. “Can you explain to me, why are you here Changmin?”
“Hyung... How did you k-“ Changmin stopped when suddenly realized what happened. Yunho knew that it won’t take any longer for Changmin to understand. “It’s Junsu, isn’t it?”
“Answer me Min!”
Changmin bit his lower lip when Yunho stared at him with a glint of anger lightening Yunho’s dark orbs. He watched Changmin sighing but then opening up his mouth to answer Yunho’s question. His tone was confident and didn’t falter, “You can see that I work here.”
“I know that much, but why here? Why not at somewhere that is more appropriate and safe than a cheap gay club like this?” Yunho asked again a little bit demanding this time while eyeing the place with disgust written all over his face.
Changmin looked at Yunho blankly, before walking past him to the bar, without bothering to answer the doctor’s questions.
Yunho rolled his eyes. Irritation was already building up and he was ready to explode. He grabbed Changmin’s wrist with a dead grip and spun him around. “You’re not going anywhere before answering my question.”
Changmin tried to loosen Yunho’s grip on his wrist by yanking them away, but it didn’t work. Yunho was much too stronger than him. “Hyung, I need to work, and let my hand go, you hurt me.”
“Then answer it!”
Changmin let out an exasperated sigh, “Fine. I’ll tell you. The owner of this club is the one that holds my parent’s debt. I need to get money to pay him and he said that I could pay my debt by working here. I don’t have any choice and I’m tired of running away from his men.” Changmin snapped, eyes never leaving Yunho. “I did answer you, didn’t I? Now let go of my hand!”
“Goddammit Changmin, just let me help you! I could give you all the money that I have to pay them.” Yunho insisted, a little desperate. He worried too much about Changmin, and he didn’t want anything to happen while Changmin was working here.
“No, I won’t take anything from you, especially not from you, Hyung, not your money. You’ve given me too many things, but I won’t let you this time. This is my problem, my responsibility, not yours. Now excuse me, will you? I need to work, and you’re free to stay… o-or leave… or whatever. It’s up to you.” Taking advantage from Yunho’s loosening grip, Changmin freed himself and got back to work, leaving Yunho with his own thoughts.
A half hour later, Yunho found himself sitting at the bar with a bottle of beer in his hand. His eyes were wandering around the club to watch Changmin going back and forth, taking and giving the customers’ orders. It was okay at first, but it had gotten too much when Yunho saw that Changmin, ’his Changmin’ was being molested by so many drunk guys, whether just a brushed on his hand, those teasing and flirtatious words, and worst, they even dared to slap him over the ass. And what made Yunho can’t stand the most, was the lust pictured clearly in their eyes, stripping Changmin naked just only with their gazes, a prove that they were ready to eat him anytime soon.
He noticed the uncomfortable look on Changmin’s face but he didn’t do anything. He stayed still, watching every move of the boy’s body towards every table, still wary of whoever guy who tried to lure him. His chest felt so tight that he didn’t realize he gripped the bottle strong enough to break it into a million pieces.
Then, Yunho was running out of patience. His eyes glowing in red and flared furiously over and over when he saw that one of the guys, who always asked for Changmin and insistently trying to seduce him, was successfully pulled him to sit on his lap. Changmin got panicked and tried his best to get himself out of the guy’s lap, but apparently that ugly guy was strongly holding him and preventing Changmin to free himself from his grasp. Yunho snapped.
He growled in his throat dangerously when he saw that, eyes raging with anger and a dark aura covered all his body, consuming all of his self restraints. He stood up from his stool, throwing the bottle down at the floor and rushed towards Changmin. He grabbed Changmin by his arm and pulled him off of the guy’s lap. With not too many words he snarled at the guy, words were not needed, before punching him hard in his face. Yunho glared at the man and also at the other guys warningly. Yunho stood in defence. He noticed that those guys were ready to jump at him because his sudden attack to their friend. Thus, without a second thought, Yunho grabbed Changmin’s wrist and led him running outside before they could react and create a larger chaos than it already had.
Yunho dragged Changmin out from the club towards his car, slightly out of breath. The boy was struggling with the large effort and asking him to let go; and he was pleading now, but Yunho didn’t care. Anger was already consuming him and not letting his head to think clearly. He thought that the only priority he had in his mind was only to take them far away from that damn place.
Yunho made Changmin keenly enter the passenger seat and then quickly went to the other side. While driving to his apartment, he wasn’t paying attention to what Changmin said. He could still clearly hear him when the boy yelled at him from taking him out of the club, yelling to him to stop over and over, or demanded him to take him back to the club, but Yunho didn’t give a damn of it. Instead, he yelled back, telling Changmin to shut his mouth. He fought his feeling of being guilty for yelling at the boy who now looking at him with wide eyes and mouth gapping in disbelief. Probably it was a shocking thing for Changmin since Yunho never, even for just once, raised his voice when talking to Changmin.
When the ride was over, Yunho opened Changmin’s door and forced him out of his car, not bothering to yell because his strong grip on Changmin’s hand was enough to prove how stone-headed Yunho could be. Soon, they stumbled together in the elevator to the fourth floor with Yunho still dead-gripping Changmin on his wrist as the boy shifted uncomfortably behind Yunho’s back. No words exchanged between the two of them.
Yunho pulled him out from the elevator to his apartment’s door as he clumsily took out his key from his pocket and turned to unlock the door. When the door flied open and then closed after he brought Changmin in, they had no words to share because Yunho had already slammed him against the wall, pinned him and kissing him roughly, body trapped the other so that Changmin couldn’t move.
“Yun-“ Changmin tried to open his mouth but it only gave Yunho a chance to sneak his tongue into the sweet cavern of his mouth. Sure it was wrong, Yunho thought. It shouldn’t have to be like this, but he didn’t care. He was too angry for so many reasons. Changmin was lying to him all this time. He knew Changmin’s intention, but it was still hurt, because he felt that Changmin didn’t trust him enough to tell him everything and obviously it was hurt because Changmin didn’t let him in to his life completely and never let Yunho protect him. But what made Yunho get even angrier, it was the earlier incident. He can’t stand the fact that there was someone trying to touch Changmin, trying to possess him. He hated their lust-filled eyes. He hated how seductive they were when they looked at his lover. Yunho didn’t know since when he had such possessive feeling for the young boy, but this time he didn’t want to care. Changmin was his, and the younger boy needed to know that.
“You’re mine, Changmin, nothing could ever change that…” Yunho said between kisses as he brought Changmin’s hands up and pinned them above his head. Without a second thought, he brought his lips back on Changmin’s, roughly kissing him, but this time Yunho didn’t get the access inside the boy’s mouth because Changmin had stubbornly clamped his lips together, insisting in not to let him in.
He growled when he didn’t have access and pulled away to glare at the boy. Why? At the club, Changmin let those guys put their hands on him, letting them examining his body with their eyes. But why didn’t he let Yunho kiss him? He was his boyfriend. He had the very right to touch him, to kiss him.
“You’re drunk, hyung!!” Changmin took Yunho’s daze as a chance to talk as he struggled in attempt to free himself from Yunho’s grip, but still it had no effect on the older man.
“Yes, Min, I’m drunk. I’m crazily drunk to have you all for myself, can’t you see that? How could you torture me like that? Being so defenseless and let anybody except me touching you and those guys watching you with their lust filled eyes. There’s no one, no one can ever see you like that, Min, because you are mine and mine only…” Yunho gritted his teeth and clenched his fist tightly, looking at the boy with anger and pain. He really didn’t care of anything including the look on Changmin’s face when he drifted his gaze away from Yunho, and he failed at noticing the shaking on Changmin’s hands.
Forcefully, Yunho turned Changmin’s face back at his and brought their lips back in a bruising kiss, didn’t care how hard Changmin tried to resist and not allowing the access to his mouth. Yunho wasn’t the one to be denied so he bit Changmin’s lower lip and sneaked his tongue right away once Changmin opened his mouth in a loud gasp.
He continued to kiss Changmin like that, and nearly reached Changmin’s neck as he trailed a line of kisses along the boy’s jaw. He kept continuing to explore the taste of Changmin’s skin and stopped abruptly when he tasted a droplet of salty liquid down from Changmin’s cheek. He pulled away and his pupils dilated to see the boy’s face had already wet with tears. Sobs wrecked his body and he was shaking so hard.
Yunho stepped back away from Changmin. The rage that a minute ago was consuming him and clouded his senses was soon dissipated, changing into a deep remorse as he watched Changmin fall down and curl himself into a ball on the floor, very timid and looking so vulnerable.
He closed his eyes and sighed deeply, running his fingers through his hair frustratingly. What had he done? He had hurt Changmin.
Yunho approached Changmin after a minute full of hesitation of what to do next. He was so afraid to touch Changmin, scared that he would hurt him more. But eventually, he knelt in front of the crying boy, and instead of saying something, Yunho gently picked Changmin up. One hand under his knees and the other at the boy’s back as he lifted him up. Changmin soon curled his arms around Yunho’s neck, clinging against him so tightly as if his life was depending on him. He buried his face in the crook of Yunho’s neck and Yunho could feel the younger’s tears against his skin. Yunho brought him in to his bedroom and put him on the top of his bed. He soon joined the boy and gently pulled Changmin closer to him and held him tight.
Yunho ran his fingers through Changmin’s hair. His other hand was on Min’s hand, holding it tightly while caressing gently. “I’m sorry, Min. I really am.” He stopped, listening to Changmin hiccupping slowly on his chest while tightening his hold around Yunho in seek for protection.
Yunho responded to Changmin’s hold with the same affection, holding the boy like there was nothing in the world that could ever separate them. “It wasn’t my intention to hurt you like this and I didn’t mean this to happen. I just… really got upset knowing that you lied to me and didn’t bother to tell me that you were in trouble. And seeing you at that club, being molested and all, it brought me nothing but anger. I couldn’t stand they stripping you naked with their eyes in front of me… I just… can’t… Please I’m sorry, and don’t cry.” He rubbed Changmin’s back soothingly.
“I-I’m scared, Yunho-yah… so... so scared…” Changmin said with his muffled voice against Yunho’s chest.
Hearing this, Yunho really wanted to hit himself for getting the boy in this condition. How could he do that, knowing that somehow he would end up hurting the boy even more? Changmin seemed to look so tough, brave and independent, but Yunho knew better that inside, he was just a fragile young boy who didn’t know how to handle the cruelty of the world. He wasn’t ready to face a problem just like what he forced himself to. “Min, I’m sorry… I’m really sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you. I-“
“No, Hyung, it’s not you…”
“So what is it, baby? What is it that scared you? Please tell me about it.” Yunho gently lifts Changmin chin so he could look straight at his face. Now that he could see the look on Changmin’s tears-stained face, there was nothing else that Yunho wanted to do except helping this boy he hold in his arms. He won’t make the same mistake anymore and would properly protect Changmin no matter what would happen. “Please tell me, Changmin. What happened?”
Changmin fidgeted again, trying to run away from Yunho’s eyes, but he clutched at Yunho’s shirt so tightly showing the uncertainty of his state. “Min, please, tell me. I cannot help you if you don’t tell me.”
Finally Changmin told Yunho the reason why he worked at that place.
Three weeks ago, when Changmin was off from the coffee shop to his next work, he was caught by Choi Dongwook’s men. He was the man who held his parents debts. Changmin was forced to meet him at the club. He told Yunho that the man made an offer to him, that he didn’t mind about Changmin didn’t pay his debts as long as Changmin was willing to work for him at the club. Changmin didn’t get any other option, because that man told him that his men will come after him every day and night in order to force him for paying his debts with a double amount of his actual debts. Realizing that he had no other choice, he decided to take the offer, and they released him after Changmin signed his contract.
“The-the guy that you hit... he-he came to the club every other day… Every time he came to the club and every time he spotted me, he-he always made me doing whatever he wanted… He liked to touch me, always whispering so many dirty words to my ear…” Yunho held his breath, eyes turning darker and darker with every word Changmin said. “But I-I didn’t like it at all… I hate it, hyung… It was so disgusting and I hate the fact that he could touch me without me telling him no. Everyday... w-when I came back home, I-I would scrub every spot he had touched over and over until my skin was turning red. He even tried to kiss me…” Changmin stopped, breath hitching as he tried to continue, “When I refused his kiss, he-he slapped my face, over and over again, until it left bruise and the other waiters had to take me away…”
“Is that the reason for the bruise on your face the other day?” Yunho cut him, his head started to boil in rage.
Changmin looked away from him, but eventually nodded his head.
“Goddamn, why did you hide it from me, Min?” Yunho raised his voice a little bit. He didn’t like this. He didn’t like that Changmin told him a lie, especially when it came to a matter like this. He became angry to himself that he can not protect the one he truly loves. “Why, Changmin? Don’t you trust me?”
Changmin shook his head furiously as he locked his gaze to Yunho pleadingly. “No, no, I trust you. I trust you with all my heart. I-if I tell you about this, definitely you won’t allow me and you’ll worry about me too much. I-I need this job, hyung. I’m tired from running away and I-“ Tears leaked from Changmin’s eyes again. His lips quivered when he told Yunho that and Yunho softened a bit. He brought his hands to cup Changmin’s cheeks, lovingly staring at those soft brown orbs while thumbing away his tears.
“Sshh… Don’t cry, baby. You are right. I definitely won’t allow you to work at a place like that, because I’m scared. I’m scared that something like this would happen to you and I wasn’t there to help and protect you.” Yunho watched him leaning to his touch and kneading Yunho’s hand on his cheek. Changmin seemed to be so afraid that he would lose Yunho’s touch if he would let those hands go.
Yunho smiled. He released Changmin only to pull him even closer to his tight embrace. He leaned himself to the headboard with Changmin still clutching tightly to his chest. “Listen to me, Min. This night will be the last time you work at that club. This time, please let me help you in paying your debt to the owner of that club.”
“But, hyung-“ The boy lifted his head a little so he could meet Yunho’s eyes as he tried to argue.
“No ‘buts’.” Yunho cut him off sternly. “I care too much to let you risk yourself in working in that place and I don’t want to see you hurt because of some jerks anymore. Watching you work there, where anything bad could happen, scares me. I’m scared that no one would look after you when I wasn’t there. Please Changmin, listen to me this time. I can help you, and this time I won’t take a ‘no’ from you.”
Changmin rested his head on Yunho’s chest and Yunho shifted a little bit closer so the younger man could rest comfortably in his embrace, but his young lover kept silent.
“You don’t need to try so hard anymore, because I’m here with you. You can lean on me whenever you feel alone and insecure, and I definitely would be there whenever you need me. Do you understand?” Yunho said while kissing the top of Changmin’s head and soon he smiles when he felt Changmin nodding.
“Then promise me that tomorrow you’ll quit from that club.”
“…”
“Min?”
The boy nodded. “Promise.”
Yunho sighed in relief. “That’s a good boy.”
“Hmmm…” Changmin mumbled, wrapping one of his hands to Yunho’s abdomen while snuggling closer. “…you’re so warm, hyung…”
Yunho smiled over the comment and tightened his held to Changmin’s body. They stayed like that for a while, enjoying each other’s company as they shared every warm touch they could bring to each other with every part of their body.
“Minnie…” There’s no answer from the boy, Instead, Yunho heard a soft snoring coming from Changmin’s nose as he felt the slow rhythm of Changmin’s chest, up and down with every air he breathed. Yunho looked at him and smiled contently while watching the boy sleeping peacefully on his chest. Carefully he settled Changmin’s head on the pillow and pulled the blanket to cover him. He slowly got up from the bed, grasping his phone and dialed Junsu’s number.
After a while he heard Junsu’s sleepy voice from the other line.
“Su…”
“Yunho-hyung?? How’s it?”
“No, don’t worry. Everything’s alright.” Yunho smiled at Junsu’s worried voice.
“Are you sure? Where’s Changminnie?”
“He’s here with me, and he’s asleep now.”
“Thank God. Aish… that brat, kick his ass for me later for making me worry so much, hyung.”
Yunho laughed at the man’s humor. “I think I can’t do it. You should kick him yourself tomorrow.”
The guy was grinning, Yunho could feel it. “Okay, hyung. Please keep him safe tonight.”
“Of course, he’ll be back to the shop tomorrow, ‘kay?”
“Okay, hyung, goodnight.”
“Goodnight, Su.”
The line went dead and Yunho changed his clothes before sliding himself onto the bed beside Changmin’s sleeping figure. He leaned down to give Changmin a kiss on his forehead and a peck on his lips. “Good night, Minnie. Sleep tight.” He said before laying his head, facing Changmin and once again wrapping a hand on Changmin’s waist before closing his eyes and drifted away to meet his lover in their dreamland.

“Are you sure that you’re okay?” Yunho asked when he was ready to go to the hospital, leaving Changmin who was still got an hour to get to his work.
Changmin nodded with a reassuring smile while he led the doctor to the front door.
“I could accompany you there or maybe I could ask Junsu to accompany you and to make sure that you’re okay. Besides, they are dangerous people Changmin-ah. Don’t you remember how they beat you up at the night of our first meeting?”
Changmin shook his head. “No, Hyung. I’m okay, I can do it myself, and once they know that I’m going to pay them the double amounts of money, I’m sure that they will release me easily.”
“But I still have a feeling that this is a bad idea to let you go by yourself.”
Changmin kissed him on his left cheek. “No, I’m assuring you that I’ll be okay and you don’t have to worry about me.”
Yunho then sighed. He caressed Changmin’s cheeks lovingly before giving him a light peck right on his lips.
”Fine, but if there’s something wrong, you should call me immediately. Even though I might get a little busy today, I will come right away whenever you call and say that you need me being with you. Okay?”
Changmin smiled, eyes went mismatched and Yunho realized how beautiful Changmin was and really happy that this boy was actually his, not anybody else’s. “Okay, remember that you have promised me that no matter what ha-“
“Arraseo, arraseo... Geez... How many times would you plan to remind me that?” Changmin cut him off, a little bit agitated by Yunho’s overprotective reaction. “Now go, you’ll be late.” He told Yunho and pushed him a little bit away from the door.
Yunho gave up and not saying anything after that, only waved at Changmin and turned around. But before Yunho could move a step forward, Changmin’s voice beat him and he spun around. Yunho was shocked by the fact that Changmin already jumped on him and now was kissing him hard on the lips. He dropped his bag immediately in to return the kiss passionately, roughly.
The kiss took too little for Yunho’s taste. Changmin broke their kiss first and he blushed cutely when he stared at Yunho’s eyes.
Yunho groaned at the sight. “You make it harder for me to leave you now. And do you know that you’re tempting me to ditch work and spend the rest of my day cuddling with you and kissing you more?”
Changmin laughed at that statement and pushed him again by his chest. “Have a nice day at work, Yunho-yah. I love you.”
“I love you too, Changminnie.”
After exchanging proofs of love, this time they really said goodbye to each other.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Yunho walked along the hallway of the hospital towards the meeting room that he would attend in fifteen minutes when his phone buzzed in his pocket.
“Hello…” He picked right away knowing that it was from Junsu.
“Hyung…” Yunho slowed his step and completely stopped himself when he heard a panic sound coming from Junsu’s voice.
“Su… What? Did something happen?”
“It’s Changmin, hyung. He-He told me that he will go to the club to quit his job before going to the shop. He said that it won’t take too long, and it’s already three hours since he left. And he still didn’t come back yet. I’m trying to call his phone but his phone went dead. I’m so worried, hyung. Otteokhae?? What should I do?”
Yunho closed his eyes, heart started to race and beat really fast. Panic grew in his chest and it squeezed his heart tightly until it was difficult for him to breathe. “Why-why didn’t you accompany him, Su?”
“I told him to let me come, but he won’t let me. You know how stubborn Changmin is. What should we do?” Junsu’s voice getting more and more desperate and somehow Yunho knew that the other had already tears in his eyes caused by a terrible anxiety.
Yunho clutched his chest, trying to calm himself and forcing his brain to think straight. “Su, listen to me. I know where Changmin is and I got a bad feeling about this… Oh God! I hope that I’m wrong, that Changmin is okay. However, I’m going to find him now, Su. But if I don’t call you in an hour, call the police to the club, okay?”
“But, hyung… what are you going to do?”
“I’m going to find him now, Su, and I know he’s there. I don’t know how, but I’m pretty confident that he’s still at the club.” Yunho walked again, a little bit faster, this time in opposite way of his earlier destination.
“Okay… Should I tell Yoochun-hyung about this?”
“No, he has an important meeting to attend and don’t tell him anything about this, okay?”
“Okay.”
“I’ll call you later and remember what I said earlier.” With that, Yunho hung up. He then dialed the number he knew by his heart and hopefully wished that Changmin would pick his phone and tell him that he was okay. He walked to his office, ditching his doctor’s coat messily on the floor and grabbed his car’s keys. He groaned in frustration when he heard the voicemail of Changmin’s phone and then hung up. He walked to the hospital’s front door accidentally bumping into his best friend, but he kept walking, half running. He simply ignored Yoochun’s yell asking him where he is going and reminded him that they had a meeting to attend.
The only thing he got in his mind was Changmin, Changmin and Changmin, as he prayed silently in his heart that the boy would be okay while driving his car out from the hospital’s parking area.
“Changmin-ah, please be alright…”
