Yunho woke up the next morning with a terrible pain thrumming in his head. He groaned as he touched his head, pressing his fingers on his forehead for a light massage. The pressure of his fingers against his forehead was like heaven, causing the pain to subside a little. He then stretched his arms, relaxing the tension of his back muscles while he tried to open his sleepy eyes. He narrowed his eyes as the sunlight blinded him with its morning rays penetrating through the curtain, hitting him straight in his face and it felt really painful. It made him blink a couple of times so he could adjust his eyesight to the brightness surrounding him.
Saturday, he murmured to himself as he straightened his body, positioning himself so he could lean against the headboard of his bed. He stayed still and found that he was still wearing the clothes he wore yesterday night when he met Yoochun as he tried to remember exactly what happened last night. He leaned his head back when the memories flowed through the cells of his brain.
He remembered. That night he and Yoochun had drinks while talking about so many things; about hospital, their patients, political issues, or everything they had taken interest in. They had laughed so many times about random jokes or they had talked about Yoochun and his boyfriend, and Yunho enjoyed teasing his best friend about it, making the other man blush so hard and avoid every eye contact with Yunho. And he was glad that he didn't need to think about Changmin at all.
After that, they walked out from the bar to the nearest club they could find in town, and they filled themselves with more alcohol, and soon his best friend was already on the dance floor, grinding up and down between flushed bodies, boys and girls.
Yunho felt amused on how his best friend handled the situation in which he was right there, and he didn’t know how Yoochun managed to let himself freely dancing without any girl curling an arm around his neck or man taking possession of his waist, but Yunho acknowledged the smooth movement of his best friend as he swiftly moved against the crowd. His hips swayed languidly and his legs were firm on the floor. Every movement flowed beautifully and, in a matter of seconds, the dance floor was loud with cheering as Yoochun showed off his best dancing moves. Yunho himself was a great dancer, but that night he was not in the mood showoff showing off his dancing skills. He decided to only just stay at the bar and watch his best friend from afar, with a glass of the strongest liquor he’d had that night in his hand, declining every dancing request from many boys or girls who obviously were hitting on him.
Yunho remembered walking out from the club at two in the morning, still sober enough to drive and dragging a drunk Yoochun back to his apartment. He settled his best friend on his bed and quietly stepped out from Yoochun’s apartment and went to his own. He quickly tossed his car key on the kitchen counter, pouring himself a glass of water before retreating to his bedroom and passing out without even bother to change his clothes.
Yunho sighed before getting himself out of his bed. He glanced at the clock hanging on the wall while he took a step to the kitchen. It was 11 and he thought it was too late for having breakfast, so he only made himself a cup of coffee to sober him enough after a crazy night with Yoochun. When he had the coffee done, he sat on the couch in the living room with the coffee in his hand, turning the TV on and practically raping the remote control in an attempt to find some programs that he could enjoy this noon. But only ended up turning it off when he found nothing interesting on any channel.
He shifted himself comfortably on the couch, sipping his coffee very often, while thinking about what he would do this afternoon to busy himself since he had a night shift at the hospital, and had nothing to do before that. And that was when he remembered about Junsu.
He thought for a moment, having a fight in his mind whether he should meet the younger man or not. It had been a while, and maybe Yoochun was right, Junsu must be very worried about him and he felt a little bit guilty. And, before he could consider any further, Yunho grabbed his phone and dialed Junsu’s number. After a few seconds of waiting, Junsu answered his phone.
“Su…”
“Yunho-hyung!! Where have you been? I hardly got in contact with you lately.” Junsu uttered at the other end of the line and Yunho chuckled at him. The younger man had never changed. He would always get excited over a small matter, but Yunho never minded about that. At least, the younger man seemed very lively and always with his cheerfully self.
“Busy like always, Su, and I’m sorry for my lacks of visiting time to the coffee shop.”
“It’s okay, Hyung. I know that you didn’t have much free time, with the hospital and all.”
Yunho nodded even though Junsu can not see him doing it. “Are you busy this afternoon, Su? I think I want to see you.”
“Ah no, of course, hyung, I’ll be at the shop this afternoon.”
“But, I won’t bother your work, right?” Yunho asked himself, didn't want to distract Junsu’s work at the shop.
“Nah, it’s okay, hyung. Or if you want, you could stop by three, it’s my break time and we could talk during this time.”
“Okay, three it is. See you later, Su.”
“See you soon, Hyung.”
---------------------------------------------------
It had been four months since Yunho officially dating Changmin, and from Yunho’s point of view, they were inseparable… Well, not exactly like that, since Yunho was still as busy as hell at the hospital and Changmin with his school and part time jobs, but they still managed to save some time to spend together. If it wasn't after Changmin’s work at the bookshop, which Yunho would come and wait for him until he was done and drove him home, then at the coffee shop after Yunho had finished his job at the hospital and would patiently watch his young lover working hard at the shop, occasionally glaring possessively at people who tried to hit on his young lover, until they were giving up, and Yunho had this satisfaction smile all over his face.
In no time, everyone at the coffee shop was aware of their relationship and would call Yunho as Changmin’s bodyguard, leaving the two lovers flushed red on their cheeks, and giving Junsu a reason to make fun of them. But when the time and their works no longer allowed them to, when Yunho’s schedules went a little bit tighter than usual, they decided to meet up only when Yunho really had his free time to spend alone with Changmin.
Of course they had their first date. It happened a week after their sweet love confessions, in a fine and sunny Sunday when they didn’t have work to deal with. Yunho took Changmin to the cinema to watch a movie (Changmin preferred to watch action movie), had dinner, and walking at the park with interlaced fingers, having a warm conversation as they stargazed at the clear night sky. Their date was perfectly ended when Yunho took Changmin home to Junsu’s house and saying goodbye to each other after a soft kiss on Changmin’s lips and forehead. Yunho thought that their date indeed was simple, but he didn’t have any complaint about it, not at all, because he knew he still has all the time in the world to bring Changmin to another better date next time.
Yunho also had brought Yoochun to the coffee shop and introduced him once again to Changmin who looked friendlier than the first time. So, they have been introduced to each other, and then Yoochun to Junsu. Yoochun had no problem with hanging out with Yunho’s lover and Junsu, and he fit himself with the two friends very well, and better than Yunho had expected before. The reason was really simple. It was because apparently Junsu and Yoochun had the same favorite thing to do whenever they met each other. It was for teasing Yunho and Changmin all the times, and they would call it as the most enjoyable thing to do to their best friends.
Actually, Yunho once thought to match Yoochun and Junsu as a pair, but he changed his mind immediately. He decided that he really can’t imagine his playboy best friend having a romantic relationship with that little dorky dolphin with duck butt. Oh yes, he really can’t. But well, if it really would happen to those two in the future, who was Yunho to oppose? He knew that Junsu would be great for his best friend and he would be really really happy for them.
And finally, Changmin graduated from high school, in almost perfect grades, and Yunho was proud about that. He was amazed though by the way Changmin still managed to keep his good grades at school while working very hard from morning until very late at night. He can see that the boy was really strong and tough in his own way, and he never had any doubt about it, but still Yunho can’t keep himself worrying for Changmin.
“Hyung, look at me.” Changmin said when they were having a candlelight dinner for celebrating Changmin’s graduation (Changmin cancelled all his works on Yunho’s request) after Yunho reacted at Changmin’s new job at the supermarket. “I know that you’re still worried about me, but please don’t. Until now I could handle my life very well, and there is no reason that I can’t take care of myself properly. Now that I don’t have school to deal with anymore, I think I could manage to do another job without having to exhaust myself.”
“But Min…” Yunho wanted to argue but he was stopped when Changmin shook his head.
He smiled to the older man, “No, Hyung. Don’t worry please. I promise you that this job won’t be too hard for me.”
“Fine, I’ll keep your promise.” Yunho sighed and Changmin beamed happily.
“Oh, since my new shift will start at ten in the morning, I think I could stop by at your place after delivering the newspapers, and we can spend some time together before you go to the hospital and I go to the supermarket." Changmin added, leaning across the table to plant a sweet kiss on Yunho's cheek before he got back to his seat and continued to enjoy their supper. The doctor pouted a bit, yet the pink shades that started to decorate his cheeks showed Changmin that Yunho loved every little affection that Changmin gave to him.
“You sure know how to make me happy, don’t you?” He ruffled Changmin’s hair from his seat, earning a soft laugh from the boy. “Oh by the way, I think you should stop hanging out with Yoochun.” said Yunho with a stiffened face.
Changmin frowned. “Why is that?”
“He’s a bad influence for you. Look at you, now you’re starting to flirt with me.”
“Is it a bad thing to flirt with my own boyfriend?” Changmin blinked cutely, long lashes displayed above a pair of mismatched eyes and face all too innocent for Yunho's comfort. And he had to clear his throat and looking away from the cute devilish boyfriend of his.
“You definitely have to stop hanging around him. Period.”
Changmin smiled wryly, “But you’re the one who introduced him to me in the first place.”
“Oh yes, that’s my mistake.” Yunho nodded, and they laughed over his statement. But really, Yunho still couldn’t believe how this boy changed after they were dating. He was opening up himself more, enough for Yunho to explore further and deeper about him. Not that Yunho mind about it, but sometimes he missed the innocent and shy manner Changmin’s eyes were radiating. But however, he loved everything about Changmin, so he wouldn’t complaint about it.
At that time, Yunho actually wanted to talk about college to Changmin, but he didn’t do it. He knew how Changmin would react about it and it was definitely not a good decision to be considered when Changmin is in this kind of mood, because creating a situation where Changmin could relax and enjoy himself was hard enoug and he definitely won’t ruin it. Not when they were in a happy moment like this.
Just like that, Changmin really did what he told Yunho during their dinner that night. Everyday, after he delivered the newspapers, he would come to Yunho’s apartment for just spending a little time with his boyfriend before they both were going to their work. Changmin would sneak onto Yunho’s bed and woke the older man up (Yunho had given Changmin the spare key of his apartement so that he could come whenever he wanted to). They would have breakfast, sitting side by side on Yunho’s couch after cuddling up closer, Yunho slidding his arm around Changmin’s shoulder. Changmin used to nuzzle in the crook of Yunho’s neck while watching morning news, and by the time they had to go, an exchange of ‘I love you’ would come out from their mouths followed by a soft kiss on Changmin’s head.
Nevertheless, Yunho was happy and he had never felt this kind of happiness before. Now that he had Changmin by his side, as his young lover, he began to love every minute of his day, enjoying it no matter how hard his day was, knowing that at the end of the day he could see Changmin again and spend some good moments with him. Of course this wasn't his first time of being in love and in relationship with someone, but Yunho never felt this kind of love before. The love he felt for Changmin was the kind of love that would make you fall all over again for your lover and that you will wish that you could spend the rest of your life with your lover forever.
Everyday, Yunho woked up in the morning with a smile and a content feeling when he watched the sky from his large bedroom’s window, cheerfully getting ready for the hospital. He was passionately working in a happy mood that he couldn’t explain to everybody who frowned questioningly at his sudden change,. Because usually Yunho never acted like he did lately. He actually had a calmer aura and a quiet nature, looking how he talked to other persons or how he reacted whenever he faced a problem. But he never got any behavior problem even before. But this Yunho, was slightly different. Of course he was still as serious as ever, but his seriousness was completed with a little touch of excitement in almost everything.
Sometimes he would have this far-faraway look, like his mind wasn’t right there with his body, and he would have this stupid grin plastered on his face when he got nothing to do, or even smiling like a complete idiot, when he was absolutely lured with the happiness of his reverie about Changmin.
“God, Yunho look at your self.” Yoochun said when they were having their lunch together at the hospital’s cafeteria. Yunho was absolutely thinking about Changmin again and his plan of what he would do when he would see Changmin tonight. “You’re completely losing your mind, did you know that? Please come back to the earth, will you?” He continued while slurping his milk.
Yunho shrugged, smiling at his best friend little comment. “There’s nothing wrong with me Yoochun. I’m just… madly in love?” He grinned towards his best friend who chuckled at him wryly before taking full attention on his tray of food.
Yoochun then shook his head a little, “If falling in love would make me become a dork like you did lately, then I prefer not to engage myself with those kinds of feelings for a while.”
“Let’s just see about it later, my dear friend. You only need to find the right time and the right person to begin, and we will see how you’ll react after that, because if you do, I’ll be the first one who will laugh at your stupid madly-in-love-face until my stomach hurts because of too much laughing.” Yunho remarked jokingly and received a series of pouts on the other man’s mouth, making Yunho’s face lightened in a smug laughter.
“Oh shut up, Yunho.” And Yunho did, shrugging.
--------------------------------------------
Yunho entered the coffee shop and immediately looked for Junsu’s figure in the shop. He smiled when he spotted the younger man serving a male customer with a slice of cheesecake and a cup of coffee. He knew that he came a little too early than the actual time, but it didn’t matter. So he found himself a spot to sit while waiting for Junsu. His eyes were looking with daze around the shop.
It was nearly two months since the last time he visited the shop and there was nothing changed there. The environment was still comforting and the smell of the coffee beans never stopped filling the air.
It was the reason why he loved this shop. He loved the smell of coffee filling the air and it made him very relaxed.
“Can I get you something Dr. Jung?” One of the shop’s waiters offered and Yunho flashed him a smile.
“I would like a cup of black coffee, please. Oh can you tell Junsu that I’ll be waiting here?” He said.
“Of course, Sir. Please wait a minute I’ll tell Junsu and I’ll bring your order right away.”
“Thank you.”
The waiter flashed him a polite smile one more time before going to the counter.
Five minutes later, instead of the earlier waiter, it was Junsu who brought his order, with a wide smile plastered on his face. He seemed very happy to see the doctor there.
“It’s really nice to meet you again, Hyung.” Junsu said as he shifted his body on the seat in front of Yunho.
“Yeah, me too, Su, and I’m really sorry that recently I barely hung out with you and Yoochun.”
“I told you that’s okay. I’m just glad that you look fine. How’s hospital?”
Yunho shrugged while sipping his coffee. “Just like always and with the same routine. The tension is a little bit high though since the hospital was filled with swine flu patients. You too have to be wary about that and take care of your health properly, okay? Don't be sick.”
Junsu smiles again. “Don’t worry, Hyung. I will.”
“How has it been with Yoochun? It seemed that you two are quite a pair, huh?”
Junsu grinned but he can’t hide the blush that’s spreading fast on his cheeks.
Yunho chuckled at him. “Honestly, it’s still hard for me to imagine that playboy Park Micky Yoochun actually fixed himself in a serious relationship… Oh, no, please don’t mind my words.” Yunho quickly said after seeing a doubt glinted in Junsu’s eyes. “You know that Yoochun actually is a good person. He was like that probably because he hadn't found the right person yet. Now that he had already found you, I believe that he won’t find the reason of why he would return to his previous lifestyle anymore. And I’m glad that it was you being with him, I think you would be a perfect match for him and I’m really happy for you both.”
“Thanks, Hyung. It means a lot.” Yunho smiled at him, relieved that the younger man in front of him didn’t take his words too seriously, which it would affect his relationship with Yoochun. Yunho would feel very guilty if it did, and he can not imagine what his best friend would do to him when he knew Yunho said those things to his boyfriend.
Yunho sighed. He earnestly felt happy towards Yoochun and Junsu, especially the first time they announced to Yunho that they were dating, three years ago. He remembered he once thought that it would be good for Yoochun and Junsu to be together and actually it happened, and to say that he was happy was an understatement. He was ecstatic because they were perfect to each other. And despite of Yoochun’s previous lifestyle, when he used to change partners very often, Yunho never saw his best friend this happy and carefree when he was together with Junsu, and it was only love Yunho witnessed beneath those deep eyes.
But, unfortunately, Changmin was not there, with them, to share this happiness, especially their best friend’s happiness. Then, Yunho kept a moment of silence, having a weak smile curved on his mouth as whenever he thought what Changmin would say about this. He probably would squeal in happiness and hug Junsu tightly. He would probably, with his snarky attitudes, teasing Junsu about it for revenge, because Junsu always teased and made fun of him whenever he and Yunho were together. He would probably-
“Hyung are you okay?” Junsu asked worriedly by the sudden silence that Yunho was into.
He sighed. “Su…”
“Yes, hyung.”
“Did Changmin call? Did he write you a letter?” Yunho leaned forward, waiting for the answer that would come out from Junsu's mouth.
Junsu looked at him with an apologetic expression before answering. “I’m sorry, Hyung. He didn’t do anything of what you asked me.”
Yunho leaned himself on his seat in defeat, rubbing his forehead in exasperation. He knew that he shouldn't have high expectations from Junsu's answer, but he can't help but raising his hopes, maybe... maybe this time Changmin would send something or at least let him know that he was okay... wherever he was...
“I really don’t know how much longer I could stand of being like this, Su.”
“I know, hyung. I’m sorry, but I really can’t do anything about that. Changmin had decided this on his own, and we all know that there’s nothing and nobody that could change his mind. You know him, hyung. He won’t contact me knowing that I might tell you about it, because I would. He knows that really well and I could never lie to you.”
Yunho kept quiet this time, thinking deeply on what Junsu had said and he found that it does make sense. Changmin will definitely never do that.
“I know you’re really worried about him and missed him very much. But I believe he knew what he’s doing and I know he would be okay. He’s not a seventeen years problematic kid anymore, hyung, he’s a grown up man. And I know he can take care of himself. Don’t you believe in him?”
Yunho closed eyes and sighed inwardly. “I believe in him, Su, and never lost my faith in him.”
Junsu smiled, “That’s all I need to know, Hyung, because I know Changmin. He loves you too much to actually disappoint you like this. He’ll be okay.” Junsu reached Yunho’s hand and squeezed it lightly to give the older man a reassurance and to calm him.
Yunho could only nod his head and smiled gently to his best friend’s boyfriend. He needed this and he gratefully thanked Junsu properly before they talked about other things.
--------------------------------------------
Yunho narrowed his eyes as he watched Changmin work from his usual spot of the coffee shop. The boy seemed to look like usually, calm, not talking too much with the customer neither with another waiter except to Junsu and the shop’s owner (he was a loving old man which loved coffee so much), and still hardworking, as ever. But Yunho got this ugly feeling that there was something different about his young lover that made him a little bit uneasy. He wasn’t sure since when and what it was exactly, but recently Yunho was aware that Changmin acted slightly different towards him. Of course, he was still as sweet as ever, as snarky and clever as ever, still a loving boyfriend, which he always was, but there was something different with the way he acted around him. Whenever they were together, Changmin would space out so often, like he was in a deep thought. He would have this faraway look as if only his body was there with Yunho but his mind was drifted elsewhere. He also had this tendency of getting nervous and fidgety as if there was something he wanted to tell Yunho but eventually decided not to. Some other times, he would look so scared even flinching with just a soft brush of Yunho's fingers on his arm. This reaction always made Yunho so worried; Changmin had never behaved like that before. It was pretty obvious to Yunho that Changmin was somewhat anxious. About what? Yunho couldn't put his finger on it.
Yunho remembered that one day, after midnight, he was woken up by a loud voice coming out from the entrance of his apartment, repeatedly banging so hard that whoever it was, was trying to break his door. Annoyed and curious, Yunho padded across the living room to the door. He started to feel worry that his neighbor would be disturbed by the occasion. He opened the door, and definitely wasn't prepared to find Changmin staying there, eyes frantic and in the verge of crying. Yunho blinked the sleepiness out of his eyes while panic rushed through his system. But even if the words hadn't left his mouth completely, Changmin had launched himself onto Yunho's body, wrapping his arms tightly around Yunho's neck and burrowing his head in his shoulder. In that moment, Yunho could feel that the boy was shaking uncontrollably. The arms around his neck were tightened, wrapped strongly as if Changmin was afraid to let go, afraid of Yunho letting him go.
So, without any words, Yunho brought Changmin in, picking his lover in a bridal style, and took him to his bedroom. He laid Changmin on his bed before he crawled next to him and drawing him closer so that he could envelop the trembling boy in his embrace. Soon, Changmin followed his lead and held Yunho's torso, emptying the load of his tears on Yunho's tank top until it was soaked and wet. The older man never stopped rubbing the boy's back soothingly, whispers of ‘it's okay, i'm here, i'm not letting you go and you'll be fine’ reverberated tenderly against Changmin's ear over and over again until Changmin was worn out and fell asleep in Yunho's arms.
Yunho smiled at the sight of his sleeping lover. He ran his thumb over the trail of tears staining Changmin's cheek, wiping it affectionately and gave the eyelids a soft kiss. He shifted himself comfortably, willing himself to sleep, determined to talk about what happened to Changmin the next morning when he would be a little calmer.
But the next morning, Yunho woke up alone on his bed. He listened carefully and there was no sound of running water, so it was obvious that Changmin wasn't in the bathroom. He got up and walked out from his bedroom. He furrowed his eyebrows when he spotted his young lover inside the kitchen, cheerfully flipping omelet in the frying pan for their morning breakfast. Yunho was very confused. Changmin greeted him with a fleeting kiss on his lips, followed by a genuine smile. There was no sign of what had happened the night before on Changmin's content expression, and Yunho sensed that Changmin didn't plan to talk about it either. Thus, he was the one who brought the subject up and asked Changmin about it.
At his question, Changmin only smiled, eyes going mismatched as he told Yunho that he had a nightmare, a very bad dream that freaked him out until he was unable to sleep and had an urgent feeling to see Yunho right away. Yunho chuckled inwardly at his young lover who proceeded to pour the orange juice into the glass, not quite believing to everything the boy had said. It was not even... possible. He can't believe that a certain nightmare could truly bring someone into the state of emotion like the one Changmin had experienced that night. And if it was truly as what Changmin had said, what kind of nightmare was it? What was it that terrified Changmin so terribly that he was actually reduced into a trembling and frail figure inside of Yunho's embrace?
He thought about it over and over again, watching Changmin who munched his breakfast happily from the seat where he was sitting next to Changmin at the dining table. Eventually he sighed after he took three more minutes of observing Changmin. Maybe Changmin was right, maybe it was only nightmare just as the boy had said to him, and maybe Yunho was just worrying too much, because really, Changmin looked too relaxed that morning and he seemed to not bother at all about the last night's incident. That was why Yunho decided to let go and dropped the topic before he started to pay attention to his breakfast, promising to himself that he would observe things about Changmin more in the future.
However, through his observation, Yunho was pretty sure that the way Changmin behaved nowadays wasn't really like him at all. Indeed, Changmin had always been quiet. He didn't talk too much, but he wasn't usually getting this quiet either. Not only around him, but Yunho noticed the awkward tension between his lover and Junsu too. Changmin seemed reluctant to talk to Junsu and Junsu neither made any effort to talk back to Changmin. According to this, Yunho didn't need to be a genius to know that they had a fight, well, probably having an argument, and it was what Yunho needed to know. This problem had been getting to his nerves and he decided that it was a perfect time for him to be worried. He really needed to get to the very base of this problem as well.
He tried to approach Changmin, inviting him over to his apartment so that they could have dinner together when Changmin had a day off. He coaxed Changmin to an enjoyable night, lounging themselves on Yunho's couch with a comedy show played on television while Changmin curled up at his side like a kitten and Yunho's fingers run through the strands of the boy's hair. They were enjoying the occasion and Changmin had been so relaxed that he almost purred in bliss because he felt way too comfortable against the warmth of Yunho's body.
But it was until Yunho brought the subject into their moment of bliss. Changmin's body stiffened against him. He didn't move away from Yunho's touch, but Yunho could feel that Changmin was so tensed and he also noticed the way his voice strained when he answered his question. It was exactly like what he had been predicted: Changmin brushed the matter off by saying that there was nothing wrong with him, that his argument with Junsu was a mere dispute between two friends and it shouldn't have to concern Yunho at all. Of course Yunho didn't get away with it, he tried to push further, but man, it came out as Yunho's biggest mistake would commit that night.
As soon as Yunho asked Changmin to tell him the truth, the boy snapped at him. Changmin said that he had told Yunho everything, that there was nothing wrong with him and Yunho shouldn't worry too much about this small matter. Then he told Yunho that the older man was being silly at the moment. Also, he was practically thanking Yunho for not having enough trust in him, by not believing every word he had said before, and he retreated to Yunho's bedroom. He refused to talk to Yunho until Yunho apologized and told him that no matter what happened he will always trust Changmin, he also won't bring this matter again into their future discussions.
Just like that his first attempt ended in a miserable failure, so he decided to talk to Junsu one day when Changmin had left for his other part time job at the book shop. He told Junsu about how different Changmin was recently and he also asked the truth behind the silent war between him and Changmin, but the younger man only sighed. He, too, was telling Yunho that Yunho shouldn't have to worry because he and Changmin used to be like that when they were arguing over something.
Was it supposed to be really that way?
Yunho was always be the one who believed his own instinct, and this time, it was telling him that everything about Changmin's situation wasn't quite right in every aspect from Yunho's point of view. He did even noticed the jumbled emotion flashed in Junsu's eyes the moment Yunho spoke to him about Changmin, but most of it was glinting in sadness and Yunho knew this was something that shouldn't be taken lightly. He should talk to Changmin and no matter what happened he had to get the answer for all of his questions.
Yunho startled when he felt his phone buzzing alive in his breast pocket. He glanced at the caller ID and answered it immediately when 'Hospital' blinked on the screen. He got up from his seat after the call end with a short notice of emergency and the urgent demand for him to go back to the hospital immediately. He told Changmin who just delivered a customer orders and told him that he had to go back to the hospital due to the emergency call. Changmin nodded with a smile and let him off to the hospital with a light brush of his lips on Yunho's cheek.
After that, for a week, Yunho had to suffer from the lack of sleep because the tension of his work had been getting too high. Paper works and his patients seized his time completely that he barely breathed; He didn't even have any time to think of any other problem except for his hectic schedules and regular visits to the patients’ rooms. He was so tired that sometimes he didn't bother to drive home and just preffered to sleep on the couch in his office, which didn't feel comfortable at all, causing him very sore back muscles to start a new long day with.
At this rate he had barely seen Changmin and he started to miss him; it almost drove him insane. Sure, phone calls and text messages never stopped and it never failed to make him smile everytime he listened to the younger's voice, but it still wasn't enough. And after a week full of hard work and lack of sleep, Yunho can finally breathe. Most of documents and reports had been finished and the amount of patients in critical condition diminished. He was quite proud with his work and he returned home happily with the thought that finally he would have those normal days again with nothing much to be worried about.
It was already past midnight when Yunho got home. He was so dead tired with all his muscles screaming at him to get rest. He left a message to Changmin's phone, saying that he will see him at the coffee shop tomorrow, grinning at the thought of his lover's mismatched-eyes-smile when they will see each other later. After that, not bothering to change his outfit, Yunho threw himself on his king sized bed and moaned in pleasure at the softness of the sheets against his body. He fell asleep almost the moment his head hit the pillow and his body settled comfortably on the mattress.
The next morning, Yunho jolted awake when the alarm started roaring next to his bed. He groaned sleepily, burying his head under the pillow to muffle the sound, but to no avail. The ringing sound was too loud, causing him to sigh in defeat before he sat up, drowsily glancing to everything around him before he reached the annoying alarm and turned it off.
It was 10 in the morning and Yunho mused to himself. He didn't remember he set the alarm. He wasn’t even sure what he was doing before he went to sleep.
Oh well, Yunho shrugged, maybe he did set the alarm, so he pushed that unimportant thing away from his head and proceeded to slide the curtain open and let the sunlight emerge to brighten his dark room. He did a light stretching to relieve the dull pain he felt on his back while inhaling the fresh air that was so relaxing and enjoying the little moment he had there. It had been a while since he woke up with this fresh feeling and it was so pleasurable that he felt he didn't want to move from where he stood against the window.
A few minutes later when he had enough relaxing time to enjoy the morning, he decided to break his moment and went to the bathroom to splash his face with water. The water was cold but not exactly unpleasant, and it helped him to brush the sleepiness away from his not so tired eyes.
He grinned when he heard a growling sound from his stomach and realized that he really needed to eat.
He moved to the kitchen, with the clear intention to make himself a nice breakfast to eat, but he stopped when he saw there were a plate full of kimchi fried rice and a glass filled with chocolate milk stanging next to it, on the dining table. He frowned but then he noticed a little note placed together with the meal. He reached for the note and read it as he downed the milk into his throat. He smiled when Changmin's familiar messy handwriting greeted him.
“Awake yet, sleepy head?
I came this morning, but you were still sleeping, so i let you and stumbled my way to make breakfast, but don't worry, i'm a thoughtful boyfriend, so i made breakfast for you as well. So, you should thank me later. ;)
I'm off to work first and don't forget to eat your breakfast, 'kay? I'll see you later at the coffee shop.
Miss you so much,
Changmin
p.s : I set your alarm on :p”
"Brat!" Yunho snorted as he tossed the note aside. He took a seat and immediately shoved a mouthful of kimchi fried rice into his mouth, grinning, as he did so, at the thought of Changmin with clumsy hands trying to make him breakfast. He munched his surprisingly delicious breakfast happily, acting giggly like a lovesick puppy and he thought it didn't matter, because he was indeed falling in love helplessly with the younger man.
Oh, he can't wait to see Changmin later.
