I have been a big Sydney Carter fan since childhood, when my father constructed a Sunday School Anniversary service mainly around his songs. Every Star Shall Sing a Carol is still a favourite. Just finished listening to Friday Morning. Wow, that was gorgeous theology. I've been fascinated by that exact thing for a while now, how Jesus represents both absolute innocence (having done nothing wrong) and absolute guilt (being responsible for everything).

Do get hold of his book Green Print for Song if you can - it contains songs, images and commentary. I think you'd enjoy it. Mine was from ABE and not hugely expensive, though that was some years ago.
