It is human nature to avoid the unpleasant. But we need to remember the cost of war, we need to remember the price paid for our freedoms, we need to not let those who died, die forgotten and in vain.

Thank you for reminding us that, whether we believe in a way or not, we should always remember those who honored the call to serve our country and the sacrifices they made to do so.

Huh. You guys play a different bugle tune to us. I've been discussing the differences between Australian and US commemmorative ceremonies today, and I didn't know about that one. We play the Last Post after the minute's silence, and a different one before it ... I can't remember its name, but it's the mornign bugle call, so we face east, and for the Last Post we face west.
