why thanks! It was indeed a good one. Didn't wake up covered in cake, but TWO of my students made me cakes, and I did wake up covered in dried sweat from dancing all night. WOOOO!
By the way, I`m leaving Japan in a few months and looking for jobs at charter and private schools teaching English, since I do not actually have a teacher`s license. I really hope I can find something, and will be asking to pick your brain if I actually do.
hurrah! My brain is available to be picked. Your best bet will probably be to enroll in a Transition to Teaching (TTT) program; often a school will offset/pay for that tuition. At a charter you'd need an Emergency License, which is basically the school proving they can't find anyone licensed to do the job, and you enrolling in classes toward your license while teaching. Not sure about what you have to do at a private school.
