China

ixjaydee “China,” Kyuhyun says, and it isn’t what he said but the way he says it, as if it is something distasteful, a comment brought about by a change of location.
“Hey, don’t hate on my home land,” Zhou mi teases, a grin just a touch to wide filling his face.
“I don’t hate your home,” Kyuhyun replies in careful Mandarin. “It is just all of this,” he waves a hand to encompass the airport and the fans that they know will be screaming the moment they catch site of them. It is more than that though, Zhou mi knows. That wave encompasses the endless hotels, programs, flights from one country to another, and the miss understandings that are bound to occur due to not speaking a language they are fluent in.
“Hotel first?” Eunhyuk asks, his face scrunches at the sound of the words. It is difficult for him as well as Sungmin to speak in a language they are only marginally familiar with, but they try anyway, knowing that it will only help them when they do their first filming.
‘Off to get your makeup done, then filming,’ their manager informs them clearly not feeling inclined to respect the no Korean rule even know they all know his Mandarin is fine.
Kyuhyun scowls, “China,” he repeats.
Zhou mi’s hand finds the small of his back for just a moment, a small subtle touch, and then moving on as they are hurried out by security and the shrillness of fans screams.

By now he is immune to it. Immune to how the thrusting of Kyuhyun’s hips should be arousing. Immune to how the liner around his eyes and the gel in his hair should make him look dark and sexy. Immune to the range of his voice and the thoughts of where else he has heard those cries. Although maybe he isn’t really immune at all and under other circumstances he would notice that and more.
Instead he is pressed to the forefront, taking the role of leader where he hadn’t been before. Making jokes to cover the insecurities of the members. Translating for those who don’t really understand because their company doesn’t think they need a translator anymore. Talking up his members and trying to make them shine. It is all very exhausting and he isn’t really surprised that he doesn’t notice anything arousing about Kyuhyun during their schedule.
All of the makeup, costumes, and dancing in the world could never compare when Kyuhyun walks out of the bathroom in just a towel low around his hips and one rubbing through his hair. There are pimples on his face, the fans would likely balk if only they knew, visible by the removal of the makeup. His hair, when he lifts the towel from it is sticking up at odd angles that simply look ridiculous, but Zhou mi finds it attractive. This is Kyuhyun.
He is glad that Sungmin, stuck rooming with them in their hotel room in hopes to improve his Mandarin, likes to wind down from the day by playing games with the other members and knows enough about what could be going on not to return for a while, because nothing could have stopped him when Kyuhyun deliberately stops at the foot of the bed. Zhou mi prays the door is locked and that their manger doesn’t decide he wants anything, as he slides forward and places his hands low on Kyuhyun’s hips.
It’s been a long day and they only have a few hours to rest before they have to do it all again, but Zhou mi knows they have to take these opportunities where they can get them. They are too tempting to ignore and too fleeting not to cherish. It is the one thing he has done for himself all day when he leans forward and presses his lips to Kyuhyun’s skin, tasting him and for once not the remains of makeup.
His lips blaze a trial, abandoned due to long hours and different schedules but never quite forgotten, and he is proud that he can pull the same response from Kyuhyun as before, even if it has been so long. Kyuhyun’s hands are firm on his shoulders as his mouth works, and the singer doesn’t protest when the towel that was simply tucked in at his waist, falls beneath Zhou mi’s fingers.
Zhou mi traces the hint of muscle in Kyuhyun’s stomach with his lips, delighting in how it quivers beneath his lips, before he slides off the bed so that he can conveniently move lower. He doesn’t tease, there isn’t time for it, every minute is too precious when it could be spent sleeping or doing something equally valuable, and his simply closes his lips around Kyuhyun and sucks. Kyuhyun releases a deep pure note that no fan will ever hear him make and Zhou mi smiles to himself before setting to work.
He isn’t ready to be finished any more then Kyuhyun is when the younger man tugs him up gently pressing him back onto the bed. They fall together and Zhou mi doesn’t bother wiggling out of his pajamas, Kyuhyun simply pushes them out of the way. Their hands grasp and stroke, hardly graceful or elegant, but it makes him feel good in a way that he had missed. When their lips meet it isn’t anything to write home about, just a simple press with a frantic edge that happens over again and misses the target over half the time. Kyuhyun is making small noises and Zhou mi thinks he might be too, but it hardly matters because he is close so close.
Then, as quickly as it had begun, it is over, and Kyuhyun wipes his hand on Zhou mi’s pajama pants to which Zhou mi makes a face. It forces him out of bed to change and retrieve a wet cloth which might have been Kyuhyun’s plan all along judging by the look in his eyes when Zhou mi returns. Kyuhyun cleans himself and takes care of the cloth, putting on a pair of pajama pants, likely for Sungmin’s benefit more than anyone else’s.
When he is finished he kisses Zhou mi. The kiss is deep and passionate, much more impressive than the previous ones and Zhou mi feels his body thinking about waking up to the young man again, but it is just a passing thought. The moment the lips are gone and Kyuhyun is retreating across the room to crawl into the other bed, he feels perfectly content and relaxed. Zhou mi turns off the light between them and slides into his own bed, leaving Sungmin to figure out which he wants to sleep with when he returns since it was hardly a good idea to fool around and then fall asleep looking as if they had done so.
It is silent for a moment, and then Zhou mi hears Kyuhyun sigh. “China,” the younger man murmurs and this time the word sounds like paradise.
