Ready For The Summing Up

Democrats can feel good about Colorado. Lost a few Blue Dogs in the House, for sure, but there's a lot to celebrate in keeping Ken Buck out of the US Senate, and who knows?--it's still possible Dan Maes's support drops under the 10% threshold. I guess at this point it isn't likely, but I think it's still possible, since most outstanding ballots are ( Read more... )

Well, things could be worse for you, 'drew - you could be livin' and breathin' in Ohio right now.

All those new Tea Party reps are going to show up in the House and realize just how fucking ignorant they are about government. FUBAR will not be an adequate adjective to describe the mayhem that will go down next year. No, no, no. I hate to agree with Nader, but the Republicans are the party of mean motherfuckers. They will even eat their young.

I don't know what else to say. I guess I should go out and pull down my yard signs while it's still sunny.

There's been this slowly mounting overwhelming sense of "oh shit" the past two or three months, and I'm ready really ready to be over it but you know I just can't get over how dumb we always prove ourselves to be. Or how ineffectual our boys and girls in DC prove themselves to be. Really, is there any force out there that'll ever disrail that old money train Wall Street Wal-Mart whatever, without taking the whole of life on the earth down there with it? Not to get too dreadful, but I mean, THESE PEOPLE APOLOGIZED TO BP FOR CHRISTSAKES.

Let's hope the farce lasts only long enough for the people to get wise to it. Let's only hope they wise up to it quick here in these two years. Boy, we'd better hope Obama and Harry Reid know what they're doing, else FUBAR will do it for me--at that point, why even look for better words to describe it. Nevermind it all, by then, right?

Oh well.

Good luck, midwest. Lest we forget.

Yes, if Obama and the remaining Dems don't stand up and represent, we will all be like Aron Ralston - between a rock and a very hard place. Of course, Rangel's ethics violations aren't helping the party one bit right now. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck. One step forward, twenty steps back.

But don't give up hope. I'm not sure, but somewhere way back in your archives I believe I mention some rumor about Boehner and prostitutes? Maybe those secrets will finally rise to the top. Stranger things have happened. Shock and awe in your very own mailbox, right?

As always - Old Dem
