Sooo, people who are more London-savvy than I, is my observation that, basically, I can use the bus for free correct? Like, you know, today I got on the bus using the door down the middle and there was a big crowd so I couldn't even get to the front, the only part of the bus with a card reader. So I didn't touch in. Does this work or will my Oyster

I doubt they can 'feel' if you haven't touched in (although, with TFL, I wouldn't be so sure xD).
On buses it's certainly easier to avoid controls, but it's up to you...personally I'd be too scared xD

It's only a 10-minute journey so I might risk it a few more times, at least until my financial situation eases a bit.
