A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood

RIGHT HAND MAN

Any memories from more than a couple decades ago would naturally seem like another world from now - even if our collective reality hadn’t gone and turned itself upside down, and even if I could more often remember what I did the day before yesterday.  Most details tend to get pretty fuzzy after a while, but there are always those ( Read more... )

Ah sister, I hear you so loud and clear. I have been in similar situations more often than I could count, including this exact period, where after building up a whole new event management system a combination of stupid people and a pandemic has made me redundant, once again.

Ugh, what a frustrating story! Good for you for sticking to your guns, though, and being the bigger person in the whole situation. That property manager sounds like a real tool and as much as I don't like to wish ill on people, I hope that he got his just desserts in some way. Although, life isn't a movie, and people like that rarely do get their just desserts-most of them, I find, get rewarded for their terrible behavior. C'est la vie.

I'm with you on the "not having the stomach for social services" thing, too. I love helping people and it would be very rewarding for me, I think, to have a career where I could do that and make real changes in the lives of others, but I'm also well aware that there are things that I might see in that profession that I just wouldn't be able to handle. It's the same reason why I could never work for a vet clinic or an animal shelter; as much as I love the animals, I couldn't bear the bad things that I'd have to see in that line of work.

Great work; good luck in the polls! :-)

What an ass :/ He reminds me so much of my first principal, who basically gave me PTSD and made me think I was a useless sack of shit who didn't deserve to teach
