First of all congratulations and jubilations to Bradley Wiggins, Chris Froome, Mark Cavendish and Great Britain as a whole. It was a long time coming; the boys did a great job. They were fearless and efficient, didn't put a step wrong ( Read more... )

ON TO THE OLYMPICS!
After someone described the Olympic logo as Lisa Simpson performing an unspeakable act on Bart I can no longer look at it with a straight face.

Oh see I love Tejay but someone else on gruppetto was saying the same as you about him and Cadel... personally I think the tack thing was a genunine mistake on his part (and he said as much) and then later I'm pretty sure the team told him to go and defend his white jersey over looking after Cadel but then I loved him before going into the Tour so my bias is clear.

All the said I was sad for Cadel and I wish he'd been more of a contender this year. Obviously I'm thrilled for Bradley but it's not as if he had a lot of competition :-/

(tiny note- Great Britain not England! Particularly given none of our stage winners were actually born in England (Belgium, Kenya, Malta and the Isle of Man!)

Sorry. I thought about phrasing on that and still came up wrong. Will correct. Wasn't sure which one was applicable.

So right about Cadel...I mean 7th? I don't know if that's worse or better than going from winning to maybe just a podium finish. I just felt bad for him from the first stage when it clearly wasn't happening.

Easy mistake to make *g*

I think weirdly 7th is better than 4th? Like at least he didn't only just miss out, there was clearly a real problem, but it's sad all the same.

Next year is going to be really interesting because (for good or ill) Andy & Contador will probably be back, Cadel should be back on form and Bradley, Chris & Nibali should still be going well but I predict a route with a lot more mountains/mountain finishes because it's the 100th edition.
