Yes. The Recital is tomorrow.

Yes. Lorne should be busy getting things ready for it.

Instead he's watching the Crime and Justice marathon on his portable TV and taking notes on it.

He'll be happy to be interrupted if you utter "DOINK-DOINK" before entering. In fact there's a sign to that effect outside his door.

Like the good whipped boy that he was, Cameron headed down to Lorne's office in the morning. Maybe he should have taken the sign as an actual sign that he should just turn around and let Lorne find another replacement. Sadly enough, he's not that smart and he read the sign out loud.

"Doink-doink?"

"Entrez-vous!" Lorne shouted out. "If you come bearing coffee you get smooches!"

For some reason, Cameron was grateful he hadn't brought coffee. He opened the door and entered the office. "Professor Lorne?" he asked, remembering the guy vaguely from when Cameron had been a puppy and had howled on stage for him. "Veronica Mars sent me? She said you needed help with something?"

He had a bad feeling about this.

"Fantastic!" Lorne cried out as he marched over to the costume rack and pulled out an outfit. "You must be Camelot. Here's your outfit. Give me a second and I'll find the lyric sheets."

"Cameron," he said dsitractedly as he stared at the outfit. You've got to be kidding me was his first response, but he was too polite to say that. "Uh, are you sure this is the right outfit?"

"Oh that's the definitely the one, Sparky," Lorne replied as he haned Cameron the lyric sheets. "Can't thank you enough for volunteering. Rhonda said you were the right man for the job."

Cameron's eyes widened as he read the title of the song he'd be doing. "I uh... Are you sure? That's a difficult one to learn in such short time."

Oh, Veronica was going to pay for this one. Big time.

"I'm sure you'll give all you have!" Lorne replied. "Besides the show must go on!"

"Yeah, but..." Cameron held up the outfit as if it spoke for itself.

"I know! Isn't it fabulous!" Lorne exclaimed happily.

There were a lot of adjectives Cameron could come up with for the outfit, fabulous wasn't one of them. "I guess," he replied, not sounding too confused. He sighed as he glanced at the lyrics again. "You're really absolutely sure this the right song?"

Lorne peered over and looked at the lyric sheet again. "Yep. That's the one. No mistake. Is there a problem? Because I'm sure Rhonda would be very disappointed to learn you weren't able to do this for her."

"Yeah, of course she would be," Cameron muttered underneath his breath.

"No. No problem," he shook his head. "I just want to make sure there isn't a mix up. We'd want everything to go smoothly after all."

She was dead. Oh so very dead.
