Oh, Helo. Very good and such a nice ending to Daybreak which I don't despise quite as much as I did. Since my personal canon ends with Revelations that's a significant accomplishment.

Wow, thanks! It is funny--even though I'm mostly canon-compliant, the place where I do feel comfortable going AU always seems to be "Revelations," though I enjoyed a lot of Season 4.5. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

:D Thanks. I enjoyed getting to write one fairly happy ending in this fic cycle, at least.

Awww!

Helo and Athena surviving Daybreak was one of the times when I thought that RDM made the wrong decision, but I don't mind and I like it better anyway :) For me, the real ending of BSG was the Fighting Agathon family shot.

I love the desperation and the honesty in the first one as well. That was such a defining act for Helo, but he's still human, not just pure hero. The first one captured that perfectly.

Great stuff!

Thanks so much!

I totally agree. By all rights, Athena should have died for thematic/Opera House reasons, and Helo should've died when he got shot, but I don't begrudge them the happy ending at all.

hat was such a defining act for Helo, but he's still human, not just pure hero.

That was very important to me here. He's a strong, moral guy, but I wanted events to take a real toll on him, too.
