[Wind rustling through long grass, a distant call of a bird, long and cheerful, sun on warm skin, just a whisper of a cloud's shadow, a rich scent of earth in the air - it is peaceful

[Well, this... this is surreal. Like a dream, nightmare, no-- A fever dream, bright and vivid but full of details that make no sense.
It seems to him that he's looking at Itachi. But Itachi isn't dead, is he?]
I could say the same about you, hmn, [he says, tentatively, even somewhat conversationally.] And don't you sound just so pleased about that. [He smiles, sweetly.] I bet you missed me.
[ Tobi is so very, very excited, and he is peering so very closely at the Hitomi that all that can be seen are bright orange swirls and the darkened hole for his eye. ]
[And there he was, feeling a slight bit sorry for blowing up Tobi as well with himself and Sasuke, but the guilt is quickly making room for irritation.]
...the great beyond? Don't tell me dying made you even more of a dimwit than before, hmn.
[It's hardly the first time Tobi is spouting nonsense, Deidara is not inclined to hear him any more than he was back then.]
It starts with a tingle, like little wasps prickling the skin around his right arm and then his left arm and then his neck. They prick slowly, as the feeling of cold winds and a hot sun make goosebumps break out all over his back. Deidara's voice is oddly loud and clear, immersed in a haze of smoke. It rises up his nostrils, this smoke that is like invisible hands, slides down his throat and branches out like quick spreading poison. Jaws lock tight, rigid, as icy winds grips him - the stinging he can feel - they burnIruka drops the Hitomi. Flings it away like it burns. Like how the ghost like sensation that chokes him by the neck and makes the blood drain from his face and the smell of burning flesh fill his nose

[ Well. Isn't this just a lovely, lovely thing. His favorite little sculptor and ever-present source of constant entertainment has returned. Madara is quite certain that Deidara most likely does not remember this place; most likely carries no memory of the war or his role in it, or even of Madara. This is going to be tricky, without Pain here to legitimize his leadership over Akatsuki. But as it is, he'll need to secure Deidara quickly, especially with recent happenings. ]
Well, if it isn't my favorite artist. It's so good to have you back, Deidara. I was beginning to worry that you'd never return.
[ Yes, confuse him. Make him squint at you, wonder if he knows you, where you've met. And what on earth do you mean by so good to have you back? ]
Narrowed eyes, cocky tilt of a chin - oh no, he doesn't like people knowing more than he does, which obviously this stranger does, considering he knows who Deidara is and Deidara has no idea who he is.
Art... sure, he'd grab that. If he'd know this person. But he isn't that much of a dimwit.
He cocks his head ever so slightly to the side, wisps of pale hair slipping over his usually concealed eye. You may take that as a threat if you wish.]
[ And then he cants his head ever so slightly. This is all a show, all lights and smoke, and he's putting on his best display. Deidara is too volatile to treat just like anyone else. He leashes his smugness for now, pressing his lips into a small curve. ]
So you've forgotten. I am Shodaime Mizukage.
[ A pause here, for dramatic suspension, then he pulls the Hitomi far away enough to reveal the high collar of his Akatsuki cloak. He always did have a flair for the dramatic. ]
I founded Akatsuki with Pain, though that was a fact that was kept a secret for quite some time.
[ He tilts his head now, hooded eyes looking right into the camera. ]
You were here once a few months ago, in this dimension. It is called Kannagara.
[Gau switches to video, since the stranger did, and it seems rude to look and not be seen himself. He's sitting on grass, a tree behind him, all green eyes and young friendly face and rumpled black curls. His sweater vest and tie are impeccably neat.]
Hi! I'm Meguro Gau. I am, I suppose you could say, an observer of sorts. What is the world you come from like?
[He doesn't know how to operate the hitomi, yet. So everything will be in video format until he'll figure out the basic functions of the device.
He snorts at the reply, however, somewhere between amusement and annoyance.] ...observer? Isn't that just a diplomatic way of saying that you like to watch?
[Blue eyes narrow down at Gau.] Nothing's free, kid, hmn. [Ignore the fact that he's only 19 himself. He obviously thinks he can call anyone a kid, regardless.]

The damn thing just made a sound, didn't it?
Not possible, he decides, shaking it, and the picture with it.]
...the hell is this thing, hmnph?

How surprising to see you here as well, Deidara.
There are many who favour loud destruction in this world. I imagine you will be well met.

[He considers just putting away the device and ignoring the idiot, but eventually, he leans closer, but all he really says is:]
...hmph.

And there's another warrior of some type for my list. So this purgatory really isn't for civilians, I suppose.
... or sane people.

[He'll just stare for a moment, clearly irritated. Then, with a half-hearted snarl, he snaps,] who the hell are you?
