Aw jeez, stop killing characters I know, you're breaking my heart! I see now why you wanted to post them back to back, waiting and wondering what was happening at Hogwarts would have been awful. I had never really like Seamus's character in the books, but I really like the man that you wrote him to grow up to be. I admit I teared up when he died.
Very powerful chapter, and isn't a good thin Ron was a crack shot with that pistol? Sounds like Dola would have been a thing of nightmares with what she was planning.

Ack. I just realized Neville and Luna are at Hogwarts. Oh man, now I'm nervous to go read the next chapter.

Oh my goodness, what a *brilliant* chapter!! I don't think I could have put it down if the house was on fire. Bravo!

Well, this really hit me in the gut:

They're more skilled any of us short of Seamus and Harry. These Oligarchy, they're elite.

Probably more of a personal impact, but you may recall I've been fretting all along at the sheer *superiority* of these Oligarchy bastiches. Wondering from the beginning if they had super-duper magical powers completely unknown of by Rowling's crew. With this chapter it became clear that it wasn't a question of new or different magic ... just expertise and skill.

It was a good call, placing the story firmly square in regular Harry Potter territory but still not abating in the slightest the absolute danger and menace that these Oligarchy bastiches represent.

The second thing which was uppermost in my mind on reading this ... you dared to mention the Elder Wand nonsense canon!! Forgive my failing memory, please, but you've kept that out of the picture in both this and 'After the Flaw', ( ... )

And that there's why I wanted to post these chapters back-to-back: Because I knew so many people had Meghan figured out, I didn't want the comments section to spoil it for anybody else.

I am posting a betaed version of the series at TQP right now. Still a LONG way to go though, as I didn't start posting until after AtF had finished. My beta just sent me chapters 35 and 36 (A Fair Read and Patronus) a few days ago, so I haven't even gotten to Oligarchy over there yet.
