Here's some more serious fucking business surrounding video games, related to that other serious fucking business. The very fact that a video game developer is, apparently, able to levy the USD equivalent of a $5701.33 fine (or any amount at all that isn't in make believe video game money) against players, even "professional" players like this, ( Read more... )

From what I gather it's not so much sports as it is betting and hoping you win the bet - of course being the player gives incentive to making sure you win that bet I guess.

I wonder if any team's been known to throw a match and have a friend bet against them, for them. ^^

It happens in "professional" fighting game tournaments as well, what with fighting game players being another group that consider their hobby to be Serious Fucking Business™ like MOBA players.
