Recent events in Soupy's life prompted a discussion over the weekend of the various stages of a dating relationship. I found this fairly illuminating, since Mr. Bill and I sort of fell sideways into dating and even, to a certain degree, being engaged. It seems there are several steps that we kind of skipped over on our way to being married. I of ( Read more... )

Hee! (I am relying on Dan to help me figure out whether there are actually "stages" of a dating relationship. He doesn't seem to mind. *g*)

Yeah, I wasn't aware there were broadly-recognized stages. I can't really remember there being much between "I like you, do you like me?" and "I'm going to marry you and have your babies." But then, Bill and I are not exactly the template for normal.

This is totally awesome because it once again disproves all that formulaic bullcrap that everyone tried to push down my throat when I was in my early 20s.

Also, congrats on being a mommy! I don't know if I've told you that yet, so I'm telling you again just in case.

Also, don't turn into Mrs. No Fun after the kid pops out. I've had friends who's wives did that, and it was no bueno.

Aw, thank you, Trance! I promise not to turn into Mrs. No Fun. That would be sad.

Well we met when I was in kindergarten because his mom ran the homeschooling group my parents enrolled me in. But we didn't really become friends until much later, when I was sixteen and he was nineteen. Before that we were more acquaintances that had a lot of friends in common.
